They need to ask an anti-spam question during registration. These captchas dont work because bots can read them.
a simple question will almost always work. "who is that famous pick up artist whose name starts with Myst"
If they dont put Mystery, registration fails.

Maybe limit the number of new threads someone can make per day to 1 thread. Would limit the spam to one thread and would stop the new guys from posting 3 threads a day asking unnecessary questions.

Usually when a forum starts getting spam, it's a sign that the care takers of said forum aren't being very attentive. Usually, when the caretakers of a particular forum aren't being very attentive, it means that financially, the forum no longer makes sense. Usually, when the forum no longer makes sense, the forum shuts down within weeks/months.

All of admins and moderators have day jobs and a life to attend too. We are unpaid volunteers. That said, you might understand that we dont sit around on here 24/7 looking for spam attacks. The forum isn't going anywhere and if it does it will just mean that a few thousand men might actually go outside. :P
