Hi guys, I need your view on this one...

I'm a kinda athletic guy, in the summer I really enjoy enjoy doing backflips handstands and somersaults and stuff like that. I like to show this to girls... but thinking about it i don't really get very good reactions... How should I embellish the routine? what should i say before and after? I guess it's just weird doing it without any good reason. And I can't understand that, I really admire guys that do this things.

The same goes for my online game, I like to do cover songs for Johnny Cash and i think I do it pretty good. I normally use the tunes to get girls to the instant messenger otherwise i cant send them the mp3-file. I say something like " hey I'm recording songs for my mother for her 65th birthday, I need you to listen and give me some critisism"...the sey "sure" i get them on IM and I send the the tune, the listen and often says "wow you are really good!"... I say "thanks" and then I don't know what to do. What is the best way to soak every good thing out of this DHV? how do I take those compliments?

As for the athletic stuff, it does come off as showboating if you just start doing it. Personally I think the best way to handle it would be to make it so that you are chatting with your guy friends about it and you are showing THEM, perhaps even trying to teach them something simple. This way you are not only DHV'ing without showing off but you are the Leader of Men!

As for the the music stuff I've found there is only one way to handle a compliment. "Thank you." Then ground yourself by talking about the first song you ever learned, how whenever you hear it your fingers ache from playing the chords for hours in the hot summer sun, etc etc. Be as descriptive as possible (Especially in an IM) and make sure you say how it makes you FEEL (Willingness to Emote!). This way you are almost saying, "Yeah I know I'm good" while at the same time building comfort and establishing rapport by grounding.

Hope that helps!
