Hey guys, just need a breakdown of what happened and what I could have done or what I should have done? Here's the situation: I've been trying to get my mom to exercise more so we've been going out on walks at night. I come home (it's midnight) and there's a ton of people walking on the side walks, obviously there's a party going on, and it's on my block. I don't mind people having a good time, it's all good. I pull up to my house and park in the drive way, I get out and some dude scrams from the drive way and around the corner. I get out of my car and I look where he went and he's taking a piss in my yard. There's a mini forest in my front yard. here's what I did I just said "hey, what do you think you're doing?" He just sort of looks at me like not really threatened and says "are you serious?" (mind you, I'm 5'6 and I have't worked out in a bit, He was at least 6'1 and pretty lean haha) I obviously wasn't looking for a fight, my mom and sister were with me and I didn't want them to see me get killed. Also I didn't want to just let this slide, I feel like a pussy if did (imagine if my GF was with me). I just felt disrespected that he took a piss in my yard even though he saw me pull up to the front. He also didn't care when he saw me coming up to him. I mean he took a piss in my yard. Did I over react? Was I supposed to let this slide? I felt so impotent, how could I have handled this better? |

If he already took a piss on your yard, there's nothing you really can do. I wasn't there so I'm not sure of all the details that took place. Communication is mostly non-verbal so you might have done some things that didn't command respect or authority from him. You're tonality, body language and approach all have an effect. Then again, he's most likely drunk anyway so it's not worth wasting your time and effort on potentially fighting someone over something relatively trivial. It wasn't like he was intently damaging your property or robbing you, in which case, you would just call the police. |

You need to approach him from a 45 degree angle, show him who is boss |

You should have pissed on the same spot he pissed so it can be yours again. |

Thanks for the advice, I think I need to practice being more assertive I guess. I couldn't just walk past him, I had to say something but I realize it wasn't a big deal.

Plant tall cactus plants all over your yard. The next time someone whips his dick out in your yard, you'll have a silly grin on your face. |

To keep it real man.. Just as you have to be willing to walk away from women to be successful with them. You have to be willing to square up if you're going to call out a drunk guy for pissing in your yard. The attitude is " What are you going to do about it? I'll be pissing here again next week". You can tell a guy that ain't having it from a guy that is. If you aren't going to do anything about it, whats the point in saying anything about it. |
