Post subject:  question about perseverance

I think I am not perseverant enough. for example, when I tell a girl "hi" and she looks at me and smiles and looks away, I will think "she is not interested" and back off. but I have realized maybe that's too soon to back off.

obviously, if she says "get away from me" or "leave me alone" you want to back off.

but what if her reaction is ambiguous (which it almost always is)?

how do you know when to keep pushing and how do you know when to back off?

If you say "hi" then just stare at her for another minute or two, she'll probably say something eventually. To Security.

You back off when you get unambigious signs of disinterest.

When she physically moves or pushes you away, or CLEARLY says that she does not want to speak to you or to leave.

Everything else, you stay in the set. The more comfortable you are, and the less you worry, the more comfortable SHE will be, and the less SHE will worry.
