Post subject:  How funny is too funny?

To let you know a little about me. I'm known for being very clever, and very funny. I can keep a party laughing non stop for hours. Its just something that comes natural to me.
Well anyways I tend to use humor as a defense mechanism when I'm nervous or don't have a good conversation to fall back on(usually cause I get nervous). There are certain times when talking to girls that this works out greatly to my advantage, but I've noticed if I just carry on like a comedian, they'll lose interest in me as a sexual option, and I'll just be the funny guy.
So I've had to really learn when to be funny, and when I shouldn't. As well as which kind of things to say are acceptable and when, and which aren't.
I've obviously found a balance with the girls I have been with, but I'm still learning so I can get the right balance all the time.
How much joking do you guys thinking is too much?

In My opinion there is no such a thing as acting too funny.
The trick is not to let yourself get to a level of the "Clown" of the group.
If you tell a Joke and they laugh and want to here more here is where you step back and say " what am i ..a stand up comedian?" or "i am not here to entertain you" Sounds rude but it gives you value and it works. Now try being cocky funny and throwing some negs then isolate the target.

This is a problem a lot extroverted guys run into... they'll entertain the group, draw a crowd, etc. However, the reason they don't get the numbers/get the day 2's is because they're just the dancing monkey for the group. The girl doesn't feel connected/doesn't feel invested because the guy hasn't built up any rapport. There's a time and a place for everything. Using humor as your ticket to the center of attention is wonderful, but you have to be willing to let it go and build some comfort and rapport with your lady of choice so that she feels like a contributer... not just a spectator to the experience that night.

Good advice.

Better advice.

Thats good advice too, it lets me in on whats going on, but I thought DjMex had good points on how to use it to take it somewhere, but zip definitely helped me understand what happens better.

These are cold approach sets, right? You may be telegraphing too much interest by being funny, funny, funny. Making a girl laugh is a great way to build attraction, but if she senses that you are validating yourself with her laughter, you lose value because you need her.

Maybe try giving a couple funny lines at first and then rolling off. Calibrate what you're doing to the IOI's she is sending your way. Are there any? As Zip said, you can't stay on the funny forever. There are other parts of seduction that you need to hit to progress the pick up. It sounds like you are stuck in A2 and end up losing any attraction you have built because it becomes obvious that you use your humor as a crutch/defense mechanism.

Don't forget to have her qualify herself to you. Then move to comfort once you're getting those IOI's. You can keep the funny running through by just being the "fun" guy, but you still need to get her to chase you.

Ok, I like that. I can use humor to get the ball rolling, and then set it aside. Then my energy can carry over into the other stages as needed keeping me the fun guy.

Thanks!

Kino + humor is a winning combination.

You would be amazed what you can get away with when you're funny.
