I was hanging with a girl in a mall when we met a friend of hers. When I acted intersted and asked for details about her, she said her friend is anorectic.

The girl I met was O.K. but the one I was hanging with is my real goal. That being said, what if I were to say something along this lines: "In that case I am not intersted. Anorexy, suicidal tendencies and prychiatric problems in general are when I draw the line. I went down that road once before and it has brought me nothing but pain and suffering. I know it's not the most noble thing to do, but I just can't aford to fall for a girl who has that kind of problems. Not again. No, I don't want to talk about it".

Kinda like apealing to her maternal instinct, making me look like a dependable guy who has been there for a seriously messed up girl in the past and adding some mystery to the mix.

Does a move like this work? What would be the best way to handle a situation like that?

To be plain honest with you, I think it is stupid. If the other girl is your goal, focus you interest on her. Keep others out. If somehow during conversation the anorexic girl comes up, state your opinion. No more, no less. That alone will have much more success then playing 'the broken man'.

Besides, if you have not reallly been in such a relation, chances are great that your lies will be discovered. What if she asks questions about that relation? it is something that interests women beyond limits and questions will be asked. If your lies get revealed, you can forget connecting, kissing or fucking that girl. In short, don't use emotions from made up stories of stuff you know shit about. I think only douches do that and if you get exposed, the people who know will see you as the major douchebag in town. Forever.

If you have been in such a situation though, then don't 'brag' about it. I mean, don't play the 'broken man' at a random moment. This topic of you being with a girl who has troubles like that and the emotions that come with a story like that, have much more power when they are 'revealed'. So timing is everything with things like this.

If you have not been in such as situation, it doesnt mean you cant use the emotions involved. The best way to go then is you imagining the situation. How would it be if you would be in such as situation? Then tell her how it would feel, what you would do or wouldnt do. Again, timing is of the essence, because nobody likes a show off, even if it is about 'your undiscovered emotional side'.

So, in short:

1) focus on the girl you want, be interested in her. it is much more effective.
2) dont be fucking lying about stuff you dont know shit about, especially emotions.
3) pretending the situation, doing as-if, and then talk about the emotions is valid.
4) timing is everything.

cheers and good luck!

Totally agree. Just thinking out loud here. Still some very good advice.
