I'm 17 and have recently got into pickup. Though I have a problem in that I have been attending the Saturday Sarge in London. Being 17 I live with my parents so have made up excuses to go. Yesterday she nearly caught me out. I got into PUA as I was unsatisfied with my current success with girls and I needed to meet people who used to be like me but managed to change their lives around. I don't know what to do as if I try and say I was with friends like last time my mum will just see through it. So I either need to find another excuse or tell her what I am actually doing? Though I can't see either of those working. If I tell her what I really am doing I don't know how she will react. Can someone provide an insight as I am really having problems solving this? |

Your parents can't prevent you from becoming a pick up artist if you want to be one. If they find out, just tell them you are trying to improve your love life. |

I'd suggest that you tell your parents that you have made new friends and are going out with them. You're still 17 and I don't suggest that you lie to them. |

I'm assuming that your parents want you to do well with women. They likely want good looking grandkids. You don't need to tell them the details, but I don't think there is anything wrong with letting them know that you are improving your interactions with the fairer sex. Soul Monkey out. |

Yeah. Thanks guys. I think all along I knew I was going to have to do this at some point. Them knowing might make things a lot easier and less complicated. Though I don't think I need to go into detail about exactly how it works. I haven't told her yet though but I hope she will make it easy for me. |

I didn't tell my mum but she just found out. She basically said she didn't want me to meet up with anyone at the Saturday Sarge or at that I met through the internet. She says if I do she will tell all my friends and tell the police to come and get me back (I am unsure whether the police can force me to come back with me being 17). She has said she will allow me to go to local areas on my own or with friends but that isn't really as good. I feel like I am stuck in this situation as I can't think of what to do? I feel I need someone to go with to point out where I am going wrong. Has anyone got any ideas? |

I'm not an expert on UK law, but I doubt it. You can't in America and Lord knows, we're more authoritarian than you guys are. That said, this is just going to piss her off and make things harder on yourself. I'd skip the Saturday Sarge. Have you talked to your dad about your desire to get better with women? |

Yeah. My dad was a bit calmer about it but no better. I looked into the law and it doesn't look like the police can do anything but it still, as you said, would make it hard between me and my mum. My problem is that I will have to go without a wing who is useful for feedback. I am also now quite limited in where I can sarge now. I still feel stuck. |
