Recently, three different women have described me as "intimidating". I dug deeper when I heard it the first time and apparently its because of my sarcastic humor; they can't tell when I'm joking or being serious when I talk. Good thing, bad thing? |

Overuse of sarcasm can put people off quite easily. A joke misinterpreted for an insult can be a serious conversation killer as well.Taking control of the interaction heavily relies on your ability to send a right message at the appropriate time. Al |

I kindly disagree, back to the OP's post, the fact you say they don't know if your joking or not sounds to me like its to do with your facial expressions/body language when telling the jokes not the joke itself. The simple solution is to smile more. Let them know your only having a bit of fun, you can be dry/sarcastic/cheeky to girls and if your smiling, confident and looking in a good mood they will respond positively to it.
