Here's the thing. I've done negging in the past and I've come to realize that there's a thin line between negging and insulting. I don't know why, maybe people around here are more sensitive than other places. For example, last night I was talking to this spanish girl and her guy friend right next to her. We were having a decent conversation and then at one point I said to the guy, "how do you put up with her", and after I said that she got all defensive and walked away in an angry way. The guy said that she tends to fly off the handle sometimes, but still, that's not the only time that's happened. Any tips on what I might be doing wrong? |

I just replied to a similar question from Hitman, so I'll just copy and paste, it sounds equally applicable.: Oftentimes the decision whether or not to neg is based more on a girl's opinion of herself than her score in your eyes. If she's an 8 that thinks she's a 10, then negs are needed to knock her off that high horse. It sounds like you've been negging 8s that think they're 6's and blowing yourself out. The only way to know who your dealing with is to keep a close eye on their body language, and calibrate early. Is that pretty close to the mark? |

so what would be the best thing to do in that situation? What sort of body language do you look for to see if she thinks she's lesser than she is? by the way, if you could post a link to that topic you were talking about would be helpful. Thanks |

Problem solved don't NEG. The purpose of a neg is to disqualify yourself. a neg does this through lowering her value. however, Neg theory has been expanded now to be 'Disqualification theory'. It does the same damn thing. So neg her by disqualifying her. an example would be. "you know, you're pretty cute, it's really too bad you're not my type" It's a negative compliment. but is not directed the same as a traditional neg |

very clever. I think negs can sometimes be misunderstood as insults, and the key is to dish out compliments as well as negs. But I think disqualification only works when the target has shown indicators of interest. |

I think it is imperative to the pickup to disqualify yourself in A1, before there is any attraction at all (well, i would argue that you're not even going to get to attraction if you don't disqualify youserlf probobly 75% of the time). This can even be in the form of a time-constraint. after all, a time constraint IS a disqualifier, it shows that you're not pursuing her
