Post subject:  AA before even seeing a HB!

As of Valentines Day 2008, I currently have 0 approaches. Been in the community for a little over a month, during which I've read the Game, MM, Get the Girl, and a bunch of posts from different forums.

I decided to finally get an approach under my belt today. Being a Thursday, and since I work night shift, I set out the local mall. Walking around the mall didn't present itself with anyone spectacular. Nothing more than a HB7 and most looked like high school girls skipping school. But I couldn't really think of an opener anyways so I decided not to approach any girls that were there shopping.

On to hired guns!

I figured they would be a great way to start out since they pretty have to talk to you and many times they will approach you. I walked into an Abercrombie and Fitch. The music was LOUD! Wasn't sure how I was going to sarge in there. Some girl had her back turned messing with some clothes so I took a sharp left to the hat rack. Began messing with hats, looking at the different logos, and gawking at the price. I kept looking over my should every now and then and I caught a glimpse of the girl working. HB8.5. Suddenly the hats became very interesting and I focused all my attention on them.

Soon enough, she makes her rounds and passes me with a friendly,
"Finding everthing alright?" to which I reply:
"Yeap! Just can't decide between a small or a medium."

I'm not sure if she heard any words past "decide" because at that point she was already past me and walking away. Fail. Bought myself a hat for 25 bucks and left the place. Taking a note now that there is 2 cuties that work there. I plan to go back another day since they obviously wont remember me.

Next stop... nowhere. I walked around the mall trying to pick a store. I remember from a past visit that there's a HB9 that works at American Eagle so I decided to go there. But here's where a major problem comes in.

You know that feeling you get when you're about to talk to someone you're attracted to? That adrenaline rush/butterfly feeling? Well I was about 20 feet from the store, but because I knew what my intentions were, I started getting it. Even BEFORE I entered the store and saw a HB, I had the AA. Luckily, (or unluckily) no HB9's in that store today, just dudes and a HB6. Should've opened the the HB6 but didn't. Wanted to try another store, but lost the motivation and left the mall.

Any ideas? Just the thought of actually applying this stuff seems to set off my AA.

If you have the time and can do a second job, apply at one of these retail stores. That will help with approach anxiety, it has for me. I work at A&F, and would consider myself pretty outgoing now. And don't feel bad about her not responding to you. What you should have done was gone up to her and asked. We don't like interupting people when they are shopping, but we are forced to. So we usually try to make it short as some people get annoyed. Now, if you ask her, she knows you need some help and can spend the time to help you. And yes, our music is loud. The new playlist seems to be "louder" than the old, I don't like it. Use that to your advantage. Get closer to her when you are speaking with her to make sure she hears you, bring up the loud music if she gets uncomfortable with you being so close. Tell her its like a club, then ask her if she goes to any local ones. Most girls at my store go out regularly.
