So I'm going on a date tomorrow, but not entirely sure what sort of things to talk about? Should you be telling lots of DHV stories or ask her questions and then relate to what she says?

I just sometimes get a mind-freeze!

Cheers

Look around this site theres plenty of information on this already but one of the easier techniques is just to ask her to elaborate on something she said at the end of her last sentence for example "and thats why I got my new dog" what kind of dog is it? what you name it blah blah blah

Non-situational openers can be used for this, since their intended purpose is just that; inciting a conversation. "Should I grow a mustache?", "Who tells more lies; men or women?", "Would you have sex with Jesus?" and so on.

There are others that are a bit more elaborate and ask for an opinion, such as a story of a friend who's current girlfriend found a shoebox he had of photos from a past girlfriend, and the current girlfriend wanted him to throw them out. Or a brother who had a bachelor party and the bride-to-be didn't want him to have strippers. Their all bullshit, but I think they sound more believable in the past tense.

You can find hundreds of these types of openers online, and while most really aren't that great for actually opening, they can be good for continuing a conversation when the two of you seem to just shut up at the same time.
