I'm done with alcohol, it's liquid courage, it's got nothing on the courage we all naturally have. It's bullshit it doesn't even make me have a good time it just makes me confused as fuck. I've hooked up sober before and that's how I'm gonna do it from now on. Too many people rely on alcohol to "help them game" and I've decided I'm going to stop. Think about it, if you feel like you need alcohol to do something, you're implying a lack of confidence in that. Would you drink alcohol to go to a job interview? Not sure I like nightclubs either, they're dark, sticky, smokey places, with confusing epileptic lighting and offensively loud (and usually shit) music. The fact that you have to pay to get into them is a pretty huge travesty in itself! And just to top it off, alcohol is stupidly expensive, tastes REALLY bad, you have to drink litres of it to feel any sort of effect, and it makes you gain weight! Everyone thinks alcohol will make them 'smoother' with women (myself included, for a long time). Bullshit! It will just make you speak before you think! You'll just give some bullshit response to what a girl says, and only realise 2 hours later how stupid your reply was! Yes I am young, but that's no excuse to follow the crowd. Honestly finished with alcohol. It works for some but not for me. Am I just pissed that I had a lame night last night? Or is there real substance to what I'm saying? I honestly can't imagine going into a club sober and doing well for some reason... I've done it before but I feel like that was just sheer luck. Opinions on alcohol/nightclubs/night game would be very welcome guys. |

Paying for alcohol at clubs and bars is like paying for women. They charge $17 for a white russian. Blow me. I ain't paying that. $250 for "bottle service". Blow me again. Honestly, alcohol is for two types of people. Alcoholics, and AFCs and young people who think that is what you are supposed to do when you socialize. Mature people who have their shit together realize that there is nothing good about alcohol and you don't need it to game women. The only thing it can be used for is to get the women tipsy so she is more receptive to your advances and so she does sluttier things with you in bed. You, the pua, don't need to consume the shit or pay some exorbitant mark up to buy it at a bar. Leave that for the AFCs and the people who want DUI charges and all the other headaches that come with drinking in public. |

Totally agree with you there puaninja, I rarely ever buy alcohol at clubs (like you said, the price is wayyyy too extortionate), but i still think it's expensive even from shops. The only thing that makes me reluctant to stop drinking is the fact that EVERYONE and i mean EVERYONE is drunk at a nightclub (especially at my age, I'm a 19 year old university student) and part of me fears that I will feel out of place. Maybe that's just the AFC in me talking, but i will definitely do my next two nights out completely alcohol free and see how it goes! |

In fact, disregard my above post about me being "reluctant" to stop drinking, i know i wont feel out of place, because i'm an energetic, confident and interesting person... regardless of what chemicals are in my blood!!!! And what everyone else does, does NOT have to dictate what I have to do, can anyone spell SHEEP, I've been following the crowd for just about long enough and it's time to make a change. |

In many countries consuming alcohol is a right of passage for younger people. And it does make things more fun, especially in situations where there would'nt be much going on otherwise. How fun would a dry frat party be? Probably not very fun. At the end of the day you need to determine what YOU want and who YOU want to be, then be resolute in maintaining your beliefs in the face of others. What you don't see at the bars and clubs is what happens to all these people later on as a direct result of drinking. What looks like fun now ends up being jail time and/or severe alcoholism later in life. Being in your mid 30s and taking shots out of a vodka bottle in your freezer at 10am is not a good look. |

I'm glad you're coming to this realization at 19, my good man. I'm 28 years old, and only quit drinking about 4 months ago. When it comes to game, it's a crutch. Of the women I've slept with, all of the best quality ones were established without either of us being drunk. Only while drunk have I hooked up with the lowest quality women. You can go out to bars/clubs sober, and it will feel awkward at first but certainly doable. If done right, you can actually turn sobriety into a DHV for yourself, so stick with it man! |

Im kind of at 2 ways with the drink It messes my game up completely an its alot easier to game sober an the night goes alot slower. But i enjoy a good drink an a jive i went 7 weeks once going out every weekend not touching a drop an its a major dhv to some girls One girl a group of lads picked her up for a picture so i bit her arse she did not seem very intrested in me untill she saw me with a j20 in my hand she came up kissed me put her arms round me an said i didnt no you were not drinking unfortunatly i had a horrible insecurity that made me afraid to esculate when sex was practically there if i were not drunk fortunatly im rid of this now. In them 7 weeks i got loads of iois met some girls an had a much better time with them an it incresed my confidence an also i got into no fights although i was close to winging a few pissheads out Think its time to drop the drinking for a bit unless its an occasion bdays xmas etc |

Personally I find alcohol helps me game when I'm out. Also if I have a guaranteed fuck/fuck buddy or whatever and I'm out. I'l get drunk that I'm cocky/awesome but can still control myself. Most guys seem to complain about losing their mojo when their drunk. Fuck that shit, I'm a massive tripod and can go for hours. Feels great too. |

Here is what I dont understand. Why is it that so many people seem to think there are only two levels: Fully sober or full-blown blackout drunk. What happened to just having a beer at the bar because you like the taste of beer? I personally dont like to get hammered anymore. However I still buy alcohol, not because of getting drunk, but because I like the taste of a cold beer or well-made coctail. I do agree on the blackout drunk thing being unattractive, and atleast for me, that goes for girls aswell. Huge turnof for me when a girl can't control herself because she is to hammered. |

Jbj I'm not making that assumption that you speak of, I'm talking about any level of drunk from tipsy, upwards. I think any level of drunkeness is likely to affect one's game, you're less likely to be "on the ball" so to speak, notice less IOI's, be worse at thinking of cocky/funny things to say, for example, and the night flies by when you're drunk too (which is a bad thing IMO, it literally feels like you have less time to game when you're drunk). In fact, I've never gotten SERIOUSLY drunk before, I get tipsy, but I'm going to go completely sober for a while and see how that goes. |

Keep in mind that a lot of pua's drink heavily and still have great success. And it's not because they are so good that even alcohol doesn't screw up their game. It's that they are so good that alcohol enhances their game, or at a minimum, has a neutral effect. Being a good pua is all about living in the moment, having fun, being self-amused, staying emotionally congruent, and transfering those traits onto women you are trying to attract. Alcohol can make anything seem fun, even standing around at a bar trying to talk to stuck up women. It only becomes a problem when you get so drunk that you can't keep it together and your game falls apart. |

in my opinion, the reason most guys get drunk for night game is because they think it will give them more balls to say/do things to girls... If that's the issue, one should work on their courage while sober until they're just as courageous while sober, as everyone else is while drunk. Plus girls find drunkenness unattractive, they like confidence and alpha-frame, which people tend to exhibit a bit more of when they're drunk.... Nothing wrong with a casual drink though simply if you like the taste jbj, even though I don't like the taste of most alcoholic drinks, so I'm 100% calling it quits on alcohol. |

Sorry, you've lost me here, how could alcohol possibly enhance someone's game?

But I do admit that it can enhance your game in certain situations, especially if you have problems being self-amused and coming across as a really fun, light-hearted guy. This is one of the best threads I have seen in a while! There are good points on both sides of the argument. I like to drink, but prefer not to drink when I am gaming because I am not at my best when drunk. The problem I see mentioned often times on this site is "You need to get girls drunk to hook-up with them". This way of thinking kinda gets under my skin, because getting a girl knee-walking drunk and then fucking her is NOT Pick-Up! |
