| Post subject: | IOI or IOD? What do you think? |
Okay, long story short, I went to homecoming with this girl a few months back, got LJBF'd and moved on. I still hung out with her at school and flirted mercilessly with her, using tons of coquettish push pull techniques driving her to the point where she asked my friend if I didn't like her, lol. Anyway, I've been texting her more and more, we're going to a concert tomorrow (along with some other people) and, well, here's the text convo: Me: So, I've decided that I'm not driving tomorrow HB8: So then you're not going? Me: No I'm going, I'm just not driving, so could I catch a ride with you? HB8:Yes but i will make you drive down here Me: I was actually hoping you'd be my designated driver, lol. Don't worry, I tip well. HB8: Your not getting drunk Me: Lol, okay mom. I won't drink if it makes you uncomfortable. HB8: Umm there will never be drinking around me. D'accord? Me:You're right. You'd probably take advantage of me or something. HB8: Yes you know how I roll. . . I enjoy drunk guys oh so much that could be why I dont date guys who get drunk often (I've been know to party from time to time, lol) She wasn't insulting me or anything, because we still texted for a long time after this about french class, and our fake roll-playing divorce, so I didn't piss her off; I know it sounds that way from only this part of our texts. Okay, is this an IOD or an IOI? I know, you're probably thinking a clear IOD right? Well, I did too. Until I got to thinking (that can't be good, lol). I think that she might actually like me now, and is kind of trying to mold me into her ideal boyfriend. I don't really drink at all, except at parties, but she must think I get wasted all the time or something and is telling me to change or else I have no chance with her. She is one of those girls that never does anything wrong, and when I said to her one time, "Oh it's not like your completely innocent" she replied "Really? I believe I reserve the right to act the way I do. I'm pretty damn innocent". She constantly gives me IOI's and when we played mystery's question game, she immediately steered it into sexually oriented questions, I didn't have to do any work! (Her first question was if I was a virgin. She obviously didn't want me to use it on her b/c she's not from what I've heard from her friends). Alright, so I may be over-analyzing this, but let me know what you think ASAP because the concert is this Saturday and I want to know if I should leave her be, or pursue this a bit. Please, no responses about how I have oneitis, I used to but I have moved on. Now thats not to say I wouldn't see where things would go if she likes me, so let me know what you think about this. Thanks in advance! |

IMO, IOD...but its got a playful tone. Its also something of a compliance test. Shes laying down the law and your either gonna conform or alienate her and DLV. If you knew she didnt like drinking whyd you tell her you needed a designated driver (implying youd get drunk)? or did you not know till after the convo? In anycase partying and having fun are all well, but getting shit faced is not an attractive quality, even to women that do it. She basically gave you a compliance test and disqualified you at the same time, might not be consious on her part, and may not be set in stone. Good luck man. |

IOD, she's dictating terms to you, showing that she doesn't respect your ability to control yourself. May or may not be warranted, all depends on you as a person and I don't know you well enough to judge that. Personally, I would have said, "Hey, I'm not getting drunk, but I feel that it's irresponsable to drive after having several drinks and jumping around a bunch at a concert, which only further dehydrates you, getting you more tipsy. I enjoy having a couple drinks while taking in the music and so I figured that as we're going there together anyways, this was the responsable way to go, but if you prefer your men to be irresponsable boys, then I understand and I can get a cab." She dictated to you and read you the riot act and her set of values, so you flip it around and let her know that you can dictate back to her just as strongly and your point is better thought out and logical and you're not jumping to conclusions like she did. It makes her feel taken a'back(sp) and so it knocks her down off her high horse. Just make sure that once the matter is decided one way or the other that you can be mature enough to let it be, however the outcome ends up. |
