| Post subject: | Shop Girl Sarge - Any Input Welcome! |
hey all, I'm new to the Game- just finished reading MMethod and am currently watching the seminar videos. Need a little guidance in a pioneering sarge - I work behind the till part time in this plush little store and there are LOADS of HBs who come to this place. There's two or three of them with whom I've had a bit of a laugh but nothing concrete. Do you guys have a few openers or DHV stories/ routines that could help me out?! Much appreciated! |

I've never sarge while on the job. My advice is go out when you have time on uR hands and sarge. The best motivation is a wing. Having someone pushing you to open sets. A1 and A2 are difficult. But after that it should be comfort and it shouldn't be as hard. If uR a cashier, I would suggest after scanning their items say: "That'll be (amount of the items) plus talking to (uRname) fee, Looking at (uRname) fee...blah blah, u get the Idea**" Follow it up by "OK, that'll be $300." pause then say just playing...I don't think you can go to the comfort stage while working. If you see any HBs you had a chat with again. PUA: "God, I think you should save uR money. You keep coming here to see me, but you should really buy me dinner." something like that. hope that helped |

UntilTheEndofTime welcome to the forum. Yes, it can be touchy sarging while you're at work. Depends on your boss and the customers that you have, whether they would complain about you or not. But, if you're going to, you can use the advice given already, or you can look for something of interest to YOU that is on the girl, and make a comment about it. Just not . . . "oh you're hot." Maybe if you notice her making weird faces at stuff in the store you can make a neg or a joke about that. Something along those lines. |

Thanks boys that definetly helped - I like the "save your money for dinner" idea and will try and implement it soon. Having just moved here, I'm gradually making new friends but no one who would yet qualify as a wing. Would it be ridiculous for me to go out on my own 4 nights a week and sarge 12 girls a night as the MM suggests? Should I really be accompanied by a wing?! |

No, you don't HAVE to have a wing. Go at it on your own. And, at the end of the night, think back over your night. Figure out what happened, and what you can learn from it. I sarge all the time alone. Have since I started. In fact, I didn't get to where I had people with me until after I had started gaining some skill. |
