Can your opener be a neg? I generally find opinion openers work well for me, but I was wondering if you can just go straight up and say, for example: Me: "Wow, what's up with that costume...halloween's over" HB: "These are my normal clothes" Me: "Oh...well I guess they look ok" thoughts? |

I wouldn't use that one myself unless she was dressed really outrageous, but then I would say it in a really flirty joking way and touch part of her outfit. But I do use negs for openers a lot. I tend to neg excessively, but it is great for openers, you just need to make sure you come off as being good humoured and look like you jokingly think you are far better than them. If you've read The Game, or any MM stuff, then you'd know that it was a good thing to pretend to grab a bit piece of lint off her shirt and say, "How long has THAT been there?" for an opener. |

I stand by the rule of "1 step back, 2 steps forward." I'd neg but also add alittle compliment. And I agree w/Rye in being playful & having a joking air about you. If she has curly frizzy hair: For ex/ "Is there alot of static in your house? cuz your hairs all frizzled, but it looks cute, kinda like a new wave 2007 indie style. I could like that." - JUSTINcredible! oh BTW Rye I got a pm that you gave me rep pts? I appriciate it. |

Dude, you deserve em. You make some really solid posts. I would love to give more rep to people that deserve it, but I kinda like hoarding it all myself too, lol. |

Yeah I totally didn't realise that when you give someone a point you lose one. That kinda sucks. Thanks for the advice anyway. |

Exactly why so many people don't give rep points and its such a compliment when you get them I find. You know someone just sacrificed some status to boost you up some. Had I not given any points out ever, I would definitely be over 100. But that's ok, if rep points equal alpha status, I'd say I'm the most alpha guy around here. Its so funny, now I see why Tyler Durden goes for AMOGing so much. Its so fun and I never even used to do it. |

you can use negs as openers as long as you don't come off as offensive and insulting as you'll generally turn the chick off totally to you. In fact, you can even open with a neg and not even have to say anything? you can even open an HB by making eye contact, giving a quick look up and down, and then give a facial expression like she almost interesting but didn't make the cut.. she'll chase you down if you do it right (takes practice though) generally speaking though you can definitely open with any neg however it's generally a better idea not to neg about anything they'd take personally. |
