question about opening

is it ok to tap a girl on the shoulder to get her attention? i mean, lets say there are two girls at the bar looking forward. how do you get their attention? can you just tap one on the shoulder and say, hey..........(opener).........

or is that creepy?

aight buddy it depends on how u do it... if u stand behind her, tap her on the shoulder, and then when she looks at you u say "um excuse me miss but id like to get ur opinion on something" then ur a doofus.

walk up to her from the side make sure you can see her eyes. this means that ur atleast in her periferal(however its spelled its late lol). approach from the friends side always.
now if u came up at the right angle she should have atleast glanced at u once. be smiling, a smiling face is a hundred times more inviting than any other expression u could possible make

if shes looking at her friend then maybe she didnt see ya. if this is the case then gently put ur hand on her shoulder and say, "excuse me", when she looks say someting like "i didnt mean to interupt but lemme ask u something real quick and then ill be on my way"

(personally i dont like this technique but you asked)

yah the side approach if a better choice for sure
but alose once u open the set u just make your way in between them and lean back on the bar, you could also try doin the 'let me see ur hand, now do a little spin' and take her seat routine
the problem with aproachin from behind is that it is easy for them to shut u down just by turning around

I just speak up and make her turn around with a lout "Hey!". Then I go into the opener. By the way placing your hand instead of tapping is a great idea.

thanks. i thought tapping was creepy. last weekend there was a set at the bar but there was a big crowd behind them (no one hitting on them, just all standing there watching the game). every now and then it would open up but only just a little, and only directly behind them. maybe next time i'll try placing the hand on the shoulder , or just yelling HEY.......opener

I would never apologize for interrupting. It's a sign of submission/weakness (not alpha). You are alpha, you did mean to interrupt and you'll do it again!! 8)

dont tap her, grab her, and as she turns around slid your hand down her arm and hold her hand.

while ur at it, stick a needle in ur ass, order a hieneken and a jaeger bomb, and pop ur collar, cause your the fuckin man, and everyone should know it..haha get real.dont overanalyze. being alpha doesnt mean being rude. if ur so macho say "excuse me" instead of sorry, but regardless, u have to acknowledge u interupted or u look like a social moron, not an alpha male.

if u have the confidence and the attitude then saying sorry for something simple isnt gonna mess u up. are u the kinda guy that would knock someone over and tell em to "watch where hes effin walking?"or apologize and help them up.

the term is alpha-male...not dick-head. and in the context, its more a comon curtisy then an apology. also, if you arent actually interupting dialouge then just say hey.
and remember, u didnt actually apologize to the target, only the friend.

That's what I was gonna say.

Would work in some instances, but I wouldn't try it with someone you didn't have some sort of previous interaction with. Even if you were just making eyes across the bar, that's gonna be better than just walking up to a girl that hasn't ever seen you before.

well approaching form behind isnt always the best in any situation. you always want to approach from the front and with a smile when possible. if you approach a woman or man for that matter, they will get thrown off guard and get defensive. even in clubs, i will walk around just to approach a woman from the front

Not from the front, on an angle. From the front is very confrontational and makes you get defensive.

From an angle, hand on shoulder, interrupt, and you actually don't have to apologize. Hell, the idea is they are wanting to talk to you anyway. They are just talking to themselves to pass time until a guy has the balls to pick them up.

Perfect.

Kind of

Except that plucking fruits from the bar is dodgy, have to go from the side..

and grab? Better would be from the side and with a look, eyecontact, lean in as if you're gonna whisper-this is why loud clubs are good, lots of noise, you have to get close- slide your hand down her arm-from the side! and hold her hand, softly, gently, not tightly at all.

But yeah, like others have said, have had much more success away from the bar then at it, mayhaps because when they're at the bar they're distracted trying to do something.. better to wait until their attention will be entirely yours..
