hey guys, i've been enjoying nightgame recently and doing ok, but one thing i really struggle with is dancing. Some nights if the music is good, then i just let loose and go for it and i think i dance ok then. but mostly the music isn't to my taste, i'm not drunk and i just feel awkward and uncomfortable. I'm tall (6 ft 3), which has its benefits in that i stand out in a bar, but also on the dancefloor (imagine a giraffe rocking out to kelly clarkson!) and its not a good look. So, what do you guys think, when a girl or group of girls ask me to dance (or even worse DRAG me onto the dancefloor) as often happens, how do i avoid this DLV?! |

Short answer... learn to dance. And I'm not saying that to be snarky or try and take the piss out of you Hobo, but the answer really is that simple. Enroll yourself in a class or something - maybe one on the other side of town if you're worried about friends or family finding out. Salsa's a winner, as is tango or just hip-hop or something. (And I can't dance for shit at any of these - but I have taken a few classes.) We men have this aversion to looking like jackasses when trying something new, don't we? An in-built trigger that flips when we're trying something new and there's a chance we're going to come off looking less than stellar. 'Dance class?' 'No thanks, I don't wanna look stupid.' But think about it - you'll not look stupid as part of a class - especially when you tell the instructor that you're a beginner. And after a few classes and you loosen up and enjoy, just think how much better those nightclub dance floors are gonna seem. |

I absolutely agree with rambo, and if your worried about looking stupid on the dance floor theres another choice you can make. Make a fool of yourself on purpose dance crazy and silly but do it with a smile so people know that your joking or when it comes to certain moves and things ask someone, use it as a situation opener maybe then can help you out. |

I've been learning salsa for almost 2 years. Great way to build confidence on dance floor, practice kino and sticky eyes. No shortage of female partners. |
