Post subject:  After Opening?

Ok so Im a great conversationsalist but I cant seem to perform under pressure. I just cant seem to think of what to say after I open without asking lame AFC questions like "whats your name?" "where do u live?" etc.

For example last night in a club I opened a few times and mostly didnt get past the initial conversation. One of my AFC friends who keeps asking me for advice kept telling me that he wanted me to show him that I can just approach girls bc I always tell him to do just that but he cant. So I stopped a couple of HB8s that were walking past by tapping her hand and going like "hey, do you think my friend here looks like a drug dealer"

HB8: huh?
ME: my friend over there *point* does he look like a drug dealer?
HB8: um no
ME: cuz some girls stopped him outside and asked for drugs
HB8: he doesnt look like one to me
ME: *at this point this is all I could thing of to say* Can you go tell him that cuz hes really self conscious about it now.
HB8: *goes over and tells him*
FRIEND: What?
HB8: U dont look like a drug dealer
ME: yeah remember how those girls asked you for drugs outside
FRIEND: *just laughs*
ME: *I couldnt help but laugh too so I just said* haha sry I was just playing a joke on him cuz its his birthday but thanks for playing along.
HB8: haha ok *and walks off*

Same thing happened when I tried other openers, I basically get through 10 second or a minute or 2 minutes of convo about the opener and then I dont know what to say without seeming like "Ok, I just pulled a funny line and now im gonna ask you about your family or pets or something"

I would suggest following up with an open ended question that demands her to voice her opinion on something. From there it's easier to flow through normal conversation without being restricted to "Who,What,When,Where,How?" As soon as you get her opinion on something it's easier to:

A. Keep a conversation flowing evenly
B. Build rapport based on common interests
C. Neg her slightly due to her views (don't abuse the neg lol)

Stack on some stories that demonstrate high value and she'll be the one asking you who what when where how in no time. Then you can just sit back and enjoi being the center of attention.
