So a few weeks ago I went out with a wing and opened a two set of girls. Things went pretty well until they asked for a drink and were at a loss when I refused to buy them drinks. I look back at the situation and I could've been less robotic about it, we had been talking to them for over half an hour but I digress.
Eventually, the obstacle heard me out (I was obviously giving the target less attention) and when I explained she said it was logical and she understood. She even said "You're actually really cool, you think my friend here is cute right? I'll try and help you out" Eventually something happened outside with an acquaintance of mine and I had to leave. When I returned they had already left but I knew in my mind that I'd see them again.
Last night I went out and the obstacle wasn't around but my original target was there with two guys and a female friend. I re-opened her after noticing that she wasn't too into the guy friend, I'm gonna go ahead and guess from their body language that he was winging while his friend was talking to her friend.
So I began talking to her and asked her where her friend was and she responded a little disenchanted with "She stayed in tonight, you two seemed to hit it off the other night but I have to tell you she's seeing someone" I laughed and told her it was no biggie because I had fun meeting them both and that she should ask her friend when she sees her what she thought of my intentions. Obviously, her friend knew I was into the target and not herself.
So we're hitting it off and all, meanwhile AFC wing is standing there like an island oasis. I felt bad because I didn't want to be rude but at the same time he wasn't my friend nor her friend so it's him vs. me, which isn't a fair match
So a song comes on and he goes "This is our song" to her and moves in front of me and tries to dance with her. That lasts like 4 seconds before I moved to her other side and we continued our conversation LOL. This forced him back out and we spoke for a few more minutes. I eventually ejected and told her I had to meet up my friends(which actually is the truth). I knew he had no chance with her and I also know that I'll run into her and her friend some other time.Is this the best thing to do in this situation? I think I did okay but I'm always open to new/better ideas. He wasn't rude or anything, he didn't try and verbally speak up but his lackluster attempt to edge me out was entertaining.
