So, i've been talking to this chick for a few weeks. Been on 2 or 3 semi dates (coffee, study date, etc). Things have been going well, we're real flirty, texting each other about once or twice a day. I decided to take her out last fri to a concert so we can spend some intimate time together while getting drinks. She's really hot and fun so i thought this is a great opportunity to make my move. The date starts out great, our energy is good, lots of kino. Halfway through dinner, she starts talking about her ex-bf. First time she has brought up anyone else in her past. She doesn't say much, just talked about some random events that he was part of that fit into our conversation. We get to the concert venue and we are cuddling drinking beers having a great time watching the show. I look at her and lean in saying, "thanks for being a great date" trying to go in for a kiss. Then all of a sudden, she says. "I don't date or do relationships" I was kinda caught off guard and was thought to myself "wtf is this night then" (i'm def not trying to jump into a relatioship, but I did pay for the date?). I pull back a bit and ask her y. She then goes into her past relationships, ex-boyfriends, telling me about people that have cheated on her, how she can't trust anyone for the rest of her life and doesn't ever see her with a single guy anymore. I was completely shocked where the direction of this conversation went. I think this is where I fucked up, I didn't know what to say, so i said something along the lines of, all that sucks but I'm sure u'll find someone in your life. Without meaning to, I think she assumed I was trying to say I was that person, so she started really pushing me away and basically completely put up her defense from me. We were friendly the rest of the night, holding hands and cuddling and hugging but no more progress. She dropped me off and said she had to "leave" cuz she had work early the next day. Got a text the next morning thaking me for the concert and we texted back and forth for a bit but didn't really talk about the last night at all. We're still talking and we still have mutual friends so I'm sure we will be seeing each other soon. I feel I still got a chance with her so, how do I let her know I'm not interested in a relationship? Since she doesn't "date" what term should I use to describe I wana just hook up with her? Thanks in advance. Where did I fuck up and How can i prevent this in the future?? |

First of all my man don't look at this as a fuck up. The chick has some baggage and has made some life/relationship decisions that you had no idea about. If she doesn't want to be in a relationship because of bad past experiences you have no control over that. You walked into a mine field unfortunately and it's not your fault that you stepped on a big mine. The only real way to salvage it is to talk to her face to face as some point and explain what your intentions are. Just be honest with her. If you don't want a relationship just tell her you are not looking for anything serious, but to spend time with awesome people like her and whatever happens...happens (implying sexual stuff) but you don't want a relationship to come from it. Don't be too hard on yourself on this one man. GOOD LUCK |
