Hey guys? When I was younger I used to go out with my mates with the sole aim of getting drunk. I have always had a problem with socialising and used to avoid parties. When I was out I used the alcohol as a cover up for my poor social skills and shyness. My outlook is different now and I primarily go out to socialise and pick up. I don't need alcohol to approach but I still drink quite a bit when I go out. Here's my sticking point - when I'm drunk I tend to do tons of approaches - nearly all either don't go well or I get a neutral interaction. I know that by staying sober or at least soberer I would be having much more success but drinking when I'm out seems as natural to me as breathing and my social sphere expects me to keep up with them. The alcohol seems to make me feel more lively but I'm thinking its just making me dim witted and dull during a pick up and I lose sense of what I'm meant to be doing to get a solid close. I don't want to stop drinking but I'd love to have more control on a night out. Anyone else have an issue with this? |

Welcome to reality. I only allow myself a drink or 2 just to calm me down. If I drink more, I will lose most of my focus and my PUA skills will just diminish. Alcohol is a depressant. It's purpose is to slow down your brain. Too slow of a brain makes you an idiot. I have also suffered from the effects of stimulants (lets say coffee for this instance). Just made me overly anxious, nervous, talk too fast, etc. Just find enough of a balance. A little bit of alcohol can calm you down. Too much, will stupefy you. |

pluss if your drunk you wont be able to defend yourself,leaving you vulnerable to wanna be Amogs and thugs who will smell weakness,they also usually hunt in packs |

Thanks guys, that makes total sense - I was at a beer festival on Saturday then hit the town in the evening. I was pretty plastered and really should know not to approach when in such a state. Of course my game was way off and even had a run in with a wannabe Amog! Gonna make much more of an effort to stick to 1 or 2 beers despite the obvious pressure from the lads! |
