| Post subject: | AA - Aproach Anxiety: |
I was looking through my Social Dynamics folder and found a lot of shit I wrote while I was learning the basics of game. I had a big problem with AA, and found this half-way finished diary-entry on how to fix my AA, might be interesting, let me know. (I love how my Social Dynamics folder is 47.8 gigabytes in size, I used to collect / record so much shit.) Back then I used a bit of a weird set-up for writing and some words that made sense to me personally, you should be able to understand though. =================================================================================================================================== AA - Aproach Anxiety: -------------------------- IN FIELD 1. Warm-up sets - Very short sets, directed at any entity present. e.g. Where's the train station to random 30 year old guy. e.g. Any small situation thing. Anything very short, that gets you interacting with an unknown entity for just a very short period of time. You know that seconds after you ask it, you will eject unawkardly. 2. Open into Eject - Short sets, directed at open-worthy entities. The idea behind this is that you open sets you would normally open, be it a hot 2-set, a 4 mix-set or just bro's, with the idea that your only goal is to get your opener answered. No transition, no game-plan, no closes in mind, just get your opener out, (Indirect opinion opener is best) get the input from the girl it requires, which usually comes in a few terms (2,3,4). If opinion openers are weird to you, actually discuss the topic with your wing while you're infield for real. 3. Friendly competition - For some thing works better then others *Tag-team pickup. You pick a set for your friend to approach, you observe and when he returns he immediatly picks a set for you that you approach. Afterwards give feedback on each others sets. Repeat. *No Control. Your wing completely controls you. He decides your opener, what set you approach (if he points to just guys, you can't help it, approach), and what close you are going for. Everything is out of your hands. *Keep blind score in the number of approaches towards any entity. So guys, girls, kids, handicapped, every entity counts as 1. PREPERATION 1. At home, alone or with your wing, think of your openers. (If you're doing warm-ups, think of 2, and think of 1-3 openers for the night. 2 is generally a good number) 2. Roleplay with your wing untill you have the openers down. Give and receive feedback. Tone of voice, how fast is he talking, body language, uhms and random anyways, wordiness, etcetera. If you have your opener down you can use your brain power to listen to her and calibrate better, and work on other things. 3. Make a list of 2 or 3 things you are going to focus on that night. e.g. -Speed and tone of voice -Approaching every entity -Body language Bring the list with you if it helps you remember. 4. Body language, tone of voice, loudness, must already be active during preperation. Preferably these things should be achieved outside of in-field sarging (every day life). CONSTANTS 1. During preperation and in field, no negativity is allowed. Your wing and you will never say it is boring, you're tired, or you're just not feeling it tonight. e.g. 'It is boring lets leave' -> 'Lets look for a new place to hang.' 2. Try and be in set constantly. If not, have fun with your wing yourself. The things you and your wing talk about when not in set can not be too far away from social dynamics, preferably even be possible opinion openers. e.g. Talk about what you would do if your girlfriend had this shoebox filled with pictures of her ex, blabla. |
