Hey everyone, I have been in the game for two years and took a sabbatical for two years. Even though it took me the first time more than half a year to get over my approach anxiety. In my sabbatical I have not made ONE approach. There is this problem, whenever I get over my AA, I must force myself to become someone else. Which can work for the opener, but is terrible on the long run. I used to get over my AA, by knowing what I would say. Now I am am trying to cut canned openers and just be myself. Also I am trying to meet girls at my school and in public places, which is really different from club game. I just don't know how to get over my fear and still be myself? Any advice would be appreciated. |

Not to burst your balloon, but this is the same typical question... Regardless. The problem most adult have (i.e. all adults) is that we don't allow ourselves to fail. We are too good for this in our own eyes and we want to suceed right away. We have our mind set on the end goal and will try every 'shortcuts' to go there. Allow yourself to fail. Allow yourself to take baby learning steps. Don't be affraid to be judge (and ironicaly, by doing this you will realise that no one is judging you on your approach, they are judging your approach). Have the mentality that going out there is fun. Meeting people is fun. Getting to know girls is fun. Take it like a science experiment and ravel in the reactions that people are giving you. Enjoy your self. Smile. And go out there and go say 'hi' to people. Yes I said people, not just girls. Get talkative with random guys. It's as hard when you have AA as talking to girls is. So allow yourself to fail. Enjoy the process. The rest will come in due time. Good luck. |
