IMHO talking to girls at raves is super easy, everyone's out to see crazy things and wear ridiculous clothes. If they're on X, then so much the better. Peacocking is pretty essential, but you can do it without feeling like so much of an asshole because there's a zillion people dressed crazier than you.
Anyway, wear something fun to touch, or something that glows, basically go like it's halloween. Then you can bring any number of the following props:
1. Cigarettes (plus fancy butane/glowing lighters)
2. "Rave shades" you know the weird polarized/diffraction filter things made of paper frame + thin plastic lens : get a bunch at a party store and give them out to girls. You don't even need to use an opener with this, just walk up to her, put the shades on her face and bust out the lights.
3. Gum! So underrated, everybody likes gum, especially ppl on drugs.
4. Vicks inhaler (looks like chapstick) - anyone who raves a lot knows this trick, you take off the back and blow through it so the menthol stuff comes out, you blow it in someones eyes and it feels amazing - (only works if the target is rolling though)
Basically you can't have too many props. Stick with short, choppy dialogue ("Hey" "what's up", etc) and just demonstrate you're having a good time, enjoy the music ("I love this song, the bassline is sooo dirty... can you dance dirty?"), and then move to kino really quickly. After that I could use as much help as you, but if an AFC like me can get that far that easy, should be no problem to close for someone who knows what they're doing. If you number close, you can meet up with peeps later at your place for the after party, ravers always like to stay up all night after a show, smoke weed, hookah, etc., just chill out and come down, even if you're not alone you can still isolate and build comfort.
I'd recommend not bringing more drugs w/ you just cuz it's a pain and you automatically turn yourself into a dealer type which most people think is a shady dude. OTOH I have a friend who always brings 2 extra pills, when he isolates figures out some clever way to play doctor and gives her the pill himself, so YMMV.
Dunno as far as disarming the competition, but the props have a pretty universal appeal so that's at least a way to open. Maybe talk about the last rave you went to, see if they also went, what was the best act they've seen, etc. You won't be talking much so just get in and escalate with the quickness.
