| Post subject: | Help needed overcoming scarcity mindset - blow my logic |
Hi guys, I think this is a big problem for me and I'm having trouble with it. I think it affects ALL parts of gaming so really need help. I know that frames or mindsets or beliefs can be overturned or diminished by applying logic to it... but I'm applying logic to my situation and it seems to make it worse. Ok let's explain my mindset. If someone can pick through and destroy my logic or come up with new angles I'd appreciate it Ok I'm a native English speaker living in the French speaking part of Switzerland. I speak English,of course, but speak little French. I have read somewhere that English is spoken by about half the population here. In my mind I'm thinking - fuck that's a lot of girls out of reach already. Switzerland is a small country with a total population about the same as the city of London. I feel it's too small! Ok I try to re-frame the situation. Yes there are not as many girls here as England but then again there's not as many men so the competition is less. On a subjective side I get the impression most Swiss men fall easily into the nice guy category and boring as hell. Ok. Learning French to a competent level will open up the currently unavailable half. Unless you are in a position to and can do super-intensive courses this is going to take about 2 to 3 years. I've been online sarging and practically exhausted sarging girls through one site! Ok I can drop that for a while concentrate on other areas and then go back to it and there will be some 'fresh fish' I can always re-sarge, what can they do ignore me or tell me to f--k off. One thing I'm considering is using my time in Switzerland to practice all sorts of skills on the basis of going back to England which basically has far more opportunities and using the practised skills there. I need suggestions and people to rip my logic to shreds so I can accept there are other ways to view this |

First of all, those statistics are really misleading. I've spent a fair bit of time in la Suisse romande, and I've found that half the people speak English really well, and the other half speak it competently -- easily well enough to understand and make themselves understood, which is really all you want for sarging. If you're in some really tiny village, you may run into very few people with a decent command of English. Otherwise, at least according to my experience, I think you'll be fine. At any rate, use your time in Switzerland as an opportunity to work on your nonverbal game. Look to make whatever improvements you can on your body language, facial expressions, eye contact, voice tonality, and even kino. Think of it, even in a case where the girl speaks virtually no English, as a challenge to see how far you can take things without the usual verbal crutch. Another thing I would recommend, if you feel you're encountering a shortage of women who speak passable English, is to find a wing who speaks French and English. Once when I was in Switzerland, I found myself in a small, rural town where English was scarce. But I was traveling with someone who spoke both languages. We went for a drink at the town's pub, and there was a beautiful girl there, and my wing helped with translation and to lend me an air of familiarity. I focused on my body language, tone of voice, eye contact, and, of course, kino. After a little while, my wing made himself scarce, and by then the language gap between this girl and me didn't matter. Comment dit-on "f close" en français? Btw, thanks again for your comments on my thread. They were very helpful. |

All good points but I like the one snipped and quoted above. Maybe I can use the limitations to my advantage. When a person's English is not too great I can just lead and say all sorts of outrageous stuff. I can use the time to concentrate on other areas of gaming. inner game, lifestyle etc. Perhaps delay sarging and outer game until I make big steps internally. There's plenty of areas to improve. One thing I really need to do is just do a blitz on approach anxiety. Perhaps expecting little comprehension will help in a bizarre way. Similar to trying the Manny The Martian opener where it's just practice and you're not expecting anything other than a weird or bad response. |
