My trouble is with DHV'ing. The other stuff is all fine but when I'm in a bar and open a set I find it hard to transition from Is kissing to cheating straight to "Oh my god! I have the funniest story to tell!" People just look at me like... That's great, please go away and why are you telling me this? (Even with FTCing multiple times) I'm reading magic bullets and other material on transition but it's not really helping. i don't understand :O HELP ME!!! |

This usually happens for a couple of reasons. These are not the only reason this happens but typically by making sure you are following these steps you can avoid the whole, "Why are you telling me this?" People just look at me like... That's great, please go away and why are you telling me this? The main thing I notice a lot of people do is during they openers they go up and say something like, "Let me get your opinion on something. I have to go in a moment cause I'm with my friends, but is kissing cheating? See my friend was out the other night and she kissed this guy and of course she has a boyfriend. So is kissing cheating?" I know this may not be verbatum how you say this opener but it's pretty close I believe. Now there is a problem with the way I said this. Do you see it? I opened, I inserted a false time constraint, and I explained why I needed an opinion, but I'm forgetting something still... You need to ground the opener. You have to ground it to why it's important that you are asking them! You simply do this by inserting, "The reason I'm asking is... My friend was out the other night and she kissed this guy......" That one little step will help you avoid that question a lot of the time. The second part of this is to talk to everyone in the place. If you are being that social person and you talk to every group then it won't be as weird if you are talking to them too. They won't have this, "Why is he talking to me?" question in their heads. They have seen you talk to virtually everyone. This means you talk to guy groups, mixed groups, old people, young people, cool people, nerds. etc. You don't have to spend a lot of time at the groups your not interested in as much but you can still be friendly. "Hey did you see the game?" "How's it going?" "You guys out for a party or just because you deserve it?" My favorite phrase and one many guys I know use is, "Oh that reminds me..." This works because have you ever been riding down the road to get some food or go somewhere, and have a completely random thought? We all do. Hence, why this works so well. You are talking about your opener then, "Oh that reminds me of the time me and my buddies were out fishing in gator infested waters..." Anyways, I really hope this helps you out man. These two things should really help you avoid getting that feedback and hurting you at a critical moment. Until we are locked in just after the opener moving to DHV then we can easily be blown out. Cheers man, I really see what you're saying. Video was very helpful too! So key factors - The reason you're asking and the DHV story becomes a random thought. Someone also suggested that a DHV should be an answer to 'What are you doing here' /other various questions. Sounds like a lot of prepared answers to me which could come accross as completely canned and unauthentic. I'll try out some scripts and see what happens. Has anyone else got any input? |

It also helps if you use more original material to open. The "is kissing cheating" has probably been dropped by just about every self-proclaimed pickup artist and their wingman. Most attractive girls have probably heard it before. The moment you open with that, she knows what you're doing and is already strategizing ways to get rid of you. If you use material that is more personal to you, it'll transition smoother because it is your creation and nobody can accuse you of using some "PUA material" to get with them. ~Antithesis |
