So I have this question for all of you and I hope you can help me answer it. Below is the situation, followed by the question: On Saturday, Nov 7th I was at a fund-raising event to sell pies and cookies for my Honors Student Council. I was very active that day. An hour passed by and I noticed that there was this girl whom I have never seen in any of my club's meetings, but she was sitting at the table, helping us selling pies. There was a blank chair right by her, so I just went and sat down. I didn't look at her and I leaned back. Then I started opening to her very simply: "Are you in the Honors Student Council?" --> She said something like she has cross country practice at that time so she can't come to the meeting but she is in the Honors College. Then we started chatting about different topics and I made fun of how her nose was moving when she was talking and she laughed. After a while, I changed the subject to what I was going to do that night (using your method) and I told her that I was going to go to a bachata dance social tonight at 7PM and I said that she could join me. She said something like "Great" (she doesn't know how to dance but I do) and then we exchanged numbers. We talked for a while more and then she said that she would like to buy some pies for her teammates so she went back to the dorm to get some money. I continued to sit there for a while, selling pies, until she came back. She came back and then she bought the pies and said that she had to go. Then she told me that something like "Don't forget to tell me more about the dance this evening." So I took that as an indicator of interest and then we parted each other to go our own way. Later that night, around 5:30PM I gave her a call and I told her that I was still going to go to the dance and gave her some reasons why she should go to it. She said something like "I'm not sure if I'm able to attend the dance tonight" because I probably have a cross country team meeting tonight at that time, but then she would give me a call later on to tell me whether she could go or not. So I still ended up going by myself at 7PM. Around 8PM, she sent me this text message: "I'm sorry I couldn't make the dance tonight." Then I replied her back 15 minutes later with this message: "U just lost a chance with me. The dance is so much fun and musical. Hope your meeting was productive." She didn't reply me back after that. The next day, on Sunday, I sent her a text message on the evening at 6PM exactly like this: "Hey kute, how is it going? " But she didn't reply either. I waited 2.5 hours and then I sent another message: "Playing hard to get already, huh?" Then she didn't reply, either. I already called her on Tuesday and left a voicemail but I never got a call or a text back. I also texted on Wed but never received an answer. She also has a Facebook but I haven't added her on my Facebook yet because I don't know if that's going to help in any way or not. I'm just afraid she's gonna think that I'm a creeper. I know I probably have offended her in my first text message by accident. I'm worried that she might have taken my message in the wrong way. I said it as if I was something important to be won and she just lost ONE of her chance with me, but I hope she DIDN'T interpret it as she lost ALL of her chances with me. I really like this girl (but I won't put her on a pedestal, though) because she seems to be very smart, cute, she is two years younger than me and she knows how to talk. I haven't been able to get her off my mind in the last couple of days. So now my question is: If I meet her again in real life by chance (very small chance, but I'm hoping and I don't think she'll ever answer my phone call or text anymore), what should I say to her so that maybe I can rekindle her interest and then we are off to a new start? I was thinking about maybe I can say something casual like "Hey have we met before? Because I don't remember you but I see there is some connection between us, though." (kind of implied that the things in the past are over and we should begin a new start). Please help me on this, sorry if the post is too long. Thanks! P.S: some background on me: I have read the Mystery Method and several other pickup-related books. Personally, I think I'm quite decent in the pickup game now. I just have this problem with my text messaging when I sometimes offend the girls unintentionally and it's hard to retrieve my "cool" image back in their minds! |

Yeah dude, just forget about her and move on. But my thoughts on the situation are you built the attraction just fine and you negged, but you failed to produce enough comfort with her which is why she decided not to go to the dance. Had you built enough comfort I think you would have done just fine. That's my thought on that. Quote: Then I replied her back 15 minutes later with this message: "U just lost a chance with me. The dance is so much fun and musical. Hope your meeting was productive."
I don't know if you were trying to sound CF or what but you just came across as an ass. I wouldn't try to do those kind of lines through text messages, for that very reason, you'll just sound like an ass. And then when you called her and texted her so much after that it definitely made you look needy.I think if I were you, when she sent you that text, "sorry I couldn't make the dance" I would have just brushed it off and enjoyed myself for the night. And possibly text her back the next day, or just wait for her to text me again and initiate conversation. Anyway, that's just my thoughts on the matter. - TD out |
