Lately I've been noticing that I am a little heavy on negging. Almost to the point where I'm thinking that am turning into more of an asshole than anything else. Where is the line? Can anyone give me a few examples of neg vs asshole just to clarify a little? Cheers |

neg= nice nails..oh they're fake, umm they're still nice. asshole= slow down on the cupcakes its starting to show A neg is a negative compliment, its meant to lower self esteem briefly and only slightly. You should be able to judge her reaction, if she's offended your an asshole, if she's not your fine |

The key to delivering a neg without seeming like an asshole (I read this somewhere) is to keep talking immediately after delivery. As soon as she shows an offended reaction you should be changing the subject. If you dont act like it was meant to be offensive then they wont hold it against you as if you said the thing about the nails and just wait for her to respond "what the fuck is that supposed to mean?" or something |

You are about half way there. A Neg is a disqualifier, ment to convey that you are not into her, thus lowering her BS. It's also ment to lower her self esteem or 'her percieved value' as Mystery would put it. A lot of people confuse teasing and neging. Negging should only be done until you have hooked. After that you should tease. Once she is showing IoIs, stop the negs. |

I believe if you neg a girl you get a genuine laugh and not a fake laugh or a upset look. A neg is simply "an insult wrapped in the package of a compliment" Cheers -Ryder |

This is definitely something I struggle with as well. I'm a pretty sarcastic person and naturally i make fun of people and push limits. The key is knowing where the limit is. My go to neg is "Your not my type." girls hear this and are immediately challenged, I am now a goal because I have disqualified them. Another good neg is to say I bet your one of those girls that watches the hills, sex and the city, grey's anatomy, gossip girl, etc one of those shows every girl watches. Also, if a girl approaches me and says I know you from somewhere, even if I know her, I pretend that maybe she knows me, but I don't care. You can also neg with your body language, by acting slightly disinterested and that you could leave the conversation at any time. B-Man |

What you may need to do to learn where the limits are is just practice. You may need to just go out there and try. Practice until you find what works for you. |
