| Post subject: | Qualification Question - How Should I Answer? |
Hey guys. I searched the forums and found lots of posts on older guys picking up younger women but I have a specific question that I didn’t see addressed (apologies up front if it’s out there and I missed it). Let me provide some information that might provide a useful context for the problem I’m having. First, I’m a 43, soon to be 44 years old. Second, I have absolutely no physical or psychological problem with my age. I’m very active, feel young, and often act and dress younger than what I really am. Third, women consistently guess my age to be anywhere from 27-34 (They always ask and I always make them guess). Second, I realize that it’s possible for older guys to successfully pull younger women as I’ve pulled girls in their early twenties and had an excellent three year relationship with one in her early/mid twenties (although she did struggle with my age for the first few years). My question isn’t whether it’s possible for older women to date or pick up younger women, my question is this: As I’m chatting up a girl and things are going well (she seems to be enjoying herself, I’m getting IOI’s, etc.) she eventually asks the inevitable question: “how old are you?” (especially after she finds out that I’m a college professor). As I mentioned above I always have her guess. I’ve tried skirting around the issue by changing the subject and controlling the frame, but ultimately, the question always comes up again. I’ve noticed that if I playfully refuse to answer she shuts down immediately (I’m assuming because she thinks I’m hiding something or because I’m being overly stubborn). Sooo… any suggestions on getting around this problem? I don’t want to lie about my age because I think that would potentially create other issues down the road… |

well academia i cant really put myslef in your situation cause i am 18... but the question is: do you think the fact that your are so much older is a problem? Doesnt it make girls want you even more? I believe that it turns on a lot of girl dating a college professor: especially if you say you teach "women studies" all the best |

Yes, unfortunately in many cases it does appear to be a problem because things seem to be going really well up to the point where she learns my age and then I get shut down fairly quickly (although they do seem to respond very favorably to my being a professor). My guess is that if I told the woman that I'm talking to that I was indeed 32 (or close to the age she guessed since most guess between 27-34) than I'd be okay but again, I don't want to lie about it. |

well, you only have 2 options. lie, or don't. if you lie, you might not feel good about it, and the game doesn't really preach lying to women. if you tell the truth, she may shut you down and you get no where. or, you could lie, and tell her later, hopefully your charm convinces her to stay after you drop the bomb. but to be honest, that last one sounds like a rom-com scenario. :p Just do what you want to, man, the last thing you want to do is regret it. (see my sig) Good luck bro -E |
