Post subject:  AMOG reads emberresing text message in front of girl I like
We were hanging out with my friend Jacque, another girl and this girl named Shayla who I kinda wanna date and he read outloud a text message I sent to him just as she was leaving, it said "Don't mack on Shayla cuz I'm trying to get with her". She just laughed and gave me a hug. I feel like he mightve thrown me into the LJBF zone with her. How should I handle this? I need to make her know I'm not using her.

You shouldn't call him friend, he's an asshole. I would get some new friends if I were you.

What you should do in that situation.. Well I'd probably totally ignore it. There's bunch of ways you could have reacted but I bet you didn't saw that one coming, it makes you a bit stunned doesn't it? So yeah, total ignore.

I'm sure he's a good friend, a situation like that happens all the time, because he's probably insecure in some kind of way. After all not everybody can be the perfect wingman..

I would turn it back on him.. ofcours you should act indifferent in those situations, but ignoring it isn't the solution, because by ignoring in this situation your value will be lower. I'd hit back on him smoothly by talking to the girl: "ahhh isn't he sweet?? he's trying to gain value over my back.. he's such a good friend". And cuddle him. Just make sure he won't do that shit again.. Don't worry about the girl, she probably think it's cute.. Just make sure later, you're not the cute guy ;)

There's so much wrong with this, it's hard to pick a place to start.

For one thing, why the hell are you texting stuff like that to your "friend"? I'm not sure how other social circles work, but mine functions in two ways: 1) none of us care enough about girls to interfere with each others' macking, and 2) if one of us is actually trying to get with a particular woman, it's usually so obvious there's no need to mention it.

As for the event itself, imagine how much differently things might have ended up if you had calmly smiled at her and nonchalantly replied, "Of course I'm trying to get with her! Shayla's awesome," as you pulled her close to you.

What happens is not important. How you react to it is everything.
