When a chick asks you," Have you ever had a gf?"
what should be the best answer in case I actually haven't had?

Ok, I'll provide an answer that isn't useless. You want to be honest about not having a girlfriend, but you also want to imply that you have hooked up with girls before.

Be like "I've had a few girls in my life, but believe it or not, I've never had a real relationship before."

You have to own this and say it like its not a big deal to you.

This seems to be common in a lot of aspiring PUA's...gah, i can't even be bothered to explain. In short, you WANT the girl to hit on you, why punish her for showing interest? Jeeeezus. You don't always have to 'neg' or recite canned lines in every situation.

Not having had a gf before is certainly not a DLV if you play it right. In fact the hottest girl I know has never had a bf and that only increases her value to other guys. Furthermore I was talking with one of her mates and her (her mate is an 8), and they were talking about this guy they know who has never got with another girl but is not gay, and it definitely increased his value to them a lot. So yeah.

At the same time you don’t want the girl to think you’re lousy in bed etc, as guru mentioned. You don’t have to lie if you haven’t been with other girls, instead you can just be really confident. Here are some answers from your perspective you could use:

HB: " Have you ever had a gf?"

HKman:

Wouldn’t you like to know…
No, I’ve never chosen a single person (notice the phrasing).
Why do you ask?
That depends on the next few minutes…

When girls ask me this I tell them in the past I was not interested in getting into a relationship. And if they ask why, I tell them it is partly due to my parents getting divorce when I was a teen. This is 100% true by the way. This has never DLV me at all. And when I tell them about the divorce part they usually move on to the next topic.

Rafiel hit the nail on the head. There are SO many things you can do or say to get around answering that question because YES it IS a DLV to have never had a gf before. Here's a good one that I have used before.

Her: Have you ever had a gf?

OR

Her: Do you have a gf?

Me: That depends on how good a kisser you are. (instant kiss close if you have the frame for it)

coolkid's bang on. You gotta go C/F on this one. The other responses, though partly honest, a girl will see right through them and ur preselection is shot. Another C/F response with the right delivery could be: "Define 'girlfriend'" extra points if you say girlfriend with a hint of distain (sp?). This implies that you haven't settled down with one girl without making it obvious that you're trying to convey that. Follow-up questions may come but you just have to show your dislike for the term girlfriend. This gives the HB a challenge.

Of course this is more for when you first meet the girl and are in attraction stage and your end goal is to just sleep with this girl. If you are in comfort and you start to see this girl as more than just a random hook-up type deal, and you get a feeling that attraction won't be compromised if you tell her you've never been in a relationship, just be honest. If she bails, theres a billion of them out there and I'm sure a few hundred million would be cool with you never having a gf before.

I was making out with a girl, and she asked me,"How many girls have you kissed before?" I was completely honest, I told her,"Only one. Is it that obvious?" She told me,"Yeah it's pretty obvious, but it's cute!" Then she continued making out with me. This happened last week, and was the first time I've kissed a girl in 4 years.

I don't think you can avoid being an amateur to begin with. However I doubt most girls will judge you for it (unless you are getting older). I don't hide the fact that I am a virgin who has never had a girlfriend. I just don't advertise it, or make a big deal of it.

Im in the same situation, but to be honest, i've choosed that. I've opportunities, but i never had a girlfriend.

So, if she asks before I told, I just say NO. And I explain that a real relationships is something important to me, and all I want is a truly special lady. Its for real, Im in pursuit of a girl that drives me crazy, but all ladies looks so common, and when I found a real nice girl, i simply destroys it all... (AFC times...)

You should simply transform a question in a opportunity to show you as a selector. Its works as hell.
