Today I went out to practice my game, but i noticed something extremely flawed about it.

I'm able to open just fine, but i'm having trouble stacking to a different subject. here's the way the conversation usually goes...

Me: *over shoulder* I need your opinion on something.

Girl: Ok...?

Me: A girl has a boyfriend. But this girl goes to a party and kisses another girl on a dare. Is that cheating?

Girl: No...

Me: Ok...thanks....

That's where I lose my momentum. I just can't figure out what to say! I could stack with another opener, but I'm afraid that would just look random and irrelevant.

Does anyone else have this problem? Can anyone help me fix it?

Ok from the looks of it u adapted a known opener just a little bit. Adaption is good delvelop your own personal style !

However your opener is indeed flawed.
1. over the shoulder , the oppinion, a classic = good

2. THIS question is actually the most important part of your opener. U dont want her opinion , u want a conversation. So dont ask closed questions ( on wich she can answer with YES or No ). try to invoke reaction, not just an answer to your question.

3. saying thanks , effectively closes off the conversation, dont say thanks ask follow up question (canned if need be)

4. try searching the fora for "report building" it should help ya further along the way.

That should get u started , altering a bit of your routine, and see how it evolves
Hope to have helped u some

I'd reply with; (acting a little shocked)

wow! you could never be my girlfriend, i think thats definatly cheating!

so you think if someone dares you to do something your not responsible for whayever that is?

she'll prob defend herself at this point

after you could dare her to do something stupid

theres a million ways this convo could go, you just need to keep it fun, be creative and dont close the conversation so quick

Awesome guys, this is really helping me out!

You're right, I think my energy level was too low and I wasn't being playful or open enough.

First, I need to comment on the responses the girls gave you.
You have to have more enthusiasm when going into a set or else you get those lame replies. Try going in with a higher energy (don't overdo it) and put pauses in your opener.
For example:
"Guys. I need an opinion on something that could change the rest. of. my. life - Dental floss. Before or after you brush?"
(btw, don't use that one, been used many times)

lol, "ok...thanks..."? Nice man haha. What you do after the opener is you stack. Cut the thread and move on, no transitions. Random? If you make it seem random, it will be, but normal interesting conversation happens that spontaneously.

Example:
U: . . . Before or after you brush?
HB's: before, after, w/e
U: "You guys make the exact same facial expressions. You guys must be best friends. You must be the good one, you must be the bad one."
or Best friends test, w/e
HB's: w/e
U:"You blink a lot, did you know that?"
"Just got back from..."
"One time my friends and I..."
"Why can't life be like elementary school where..."
It really doesn't matter, cut, run different routine.
