So I've been online gaming this HB9 online and through a messaging system she sent me this along with her MSN... "haha. your making me "prove" myself to you and you "insult" me. good techniques!" So I move the conversation to MSN and start talking some more. After a while I asked her what she meant by my "techniques" and this is what she replied with... Me: you asked me about my "technique" and how effective it is Me: what gives? Me: what are you talking about? HB: haha you should have asked before HB: i thought we were on the same page Me: wow Me: taking a long time to answer huh? HB: well, there is this so call pick-up artistry technique where instead of complimenting directly you throw back handed/ almost insulting compliments so the other person is surprised and wants to please you and work to get your approval instead of the other way around. another way to do this is by asking the other person what makes them worthy of their time like name 3 qualities that make you attractive besides your physical appearance. usually this "technique" is acted towards more attractive people who are usually showered with compliments and have other working for their appoval instead of the other way aroud. reverse psycology and status of power HB: lol sry it was long! HB: are you saying you dont know this? Me: wow! Me: you're WAYYY smart! HB: are you making fun of me? HB: i cant tell Me: no Me: I'm speechless Hb: ? Me: does that actually work? HB: so you knew of it right? HB: sometimes it works HB: depends on the person though HB: but yes it does if the other person is insecure and has to be liked by everyone Me: wow HB: well not "insecure" i dont want to say that Me: so has somebody tried that on you? HB: i thought that was what you were doing to me with your back handed compliments Me: maybe I was Me: I'm a pickup artist HB: wat? HB: lol HB:your a pickup artist? Me: haha I wish Me: that would be sweet Me:you should teach me HB: lol HB: nah HB: but i could be a pickup artist HB: but i dont need to HB: lol Me: sounds like fun Somebody help me out!!! I'm completely astonished with the fact that a seemingly naive 18 year old girl is that aware of what's going on. |

Maybe it is actualy a dude. and i's just their picture thats females. lol. only kidding. actually it is possible but dat aint the point. it seems to me that you've had a conversation wid her and dat she kinda likes you or finds you interestin cos if she didn't and she is aware of the technique she wouldn't reply to you. but all this is if she aint a dude. watch your back |

I could have handled it better... for sure. But I honestly don't see how I handled it wrong, either. I never said whether I heard of it or not. I just acted surprised and asked her if it actually worked on her before since she seems familiar with it. This one is going to be fun.

Wow she sounds smart. There seems to be great potential for good conversation about analysis, psychology and social behavior...if you're into that sort of thing (if not send her my way  ). Fluff (hate the term) can be fun, besides it could get her to show some of her deeper held values which would act as a platform to build rapport from if they coincide with yours. I realize the whole attraction stage (MM) is missing here but it depends on your style. |

I've had similar experiences. Sometimes girls are telling their friends to "watch out...this guy is really smooth" or "how are you going to manipulate my mind tonight?" Either way, it's a DHV...and it builds interest for them. When I have been called out, I describe how I'm really into social dynamics and I take the HB by the hand and position her next to me so we can watch the room together. Then I start descibing how everyone is interacting in the room. Hbs love it and I kind of explain certain parts of the game ("social dynamics") to her and why the understanding of how people work is important. Essentially, describing bitch shield and AFC's to her. It's a big DHV. It shows you're different and understand women....and essentially that's what women are looking for. You'll have to find your own way to describe what you do. I don't ever call it "The Game" ut it probably wouldn't matter if I did. Just remember how all women like psychology and shit like that. It's just a thought on how I usually handle things, because you know that if you're not an AFC, then that means she has probably never seen anything like you before. |

I would have just put it to one side during the conversation. Some chicks do know about our techniques but the only think we can do is "evolve" and invent some new ones. |

New to forums but not the game...I've had one girl call me out before in a very similar fashion and I used something I had read in Style's book and told her that it only worked on smart girls. I like the idea of the fluff of social dynamics...I'll have to give that a test run if I run into a situation like that again. |
