Hi everyone!

I know how to banter and joke around with a girl. I have a problem transitioning from the 'banter' phase to the 'building rapport' phase.

Whenever I try to build rapport, it sounds like i am interviewing the girl, which is exactly what I have been asked to avoid.

This has become so bad that I have plenty of girls laughing at what I say and then going quiet because I am not engaging them in any meaningful way.

Any ideas on how to break this pattern?

Stop thinking of it as linear and start thinking of the process as an ocean. Stop thinking in terms of phases and start thinking holistically. TBQH I don't even know what "rapport phase" means. In a solid interaction I fall in to deep rapport almost immediately with a girl I just met.

How would you go from being sarcastic to not sarcastic?

Just be normal and not be sarcastic? Just like...bantering and then deciding not to banter and just be normal

Easy to say the word holistic. Can you please also elaborate?
