| Post subject: | My sticking point: texting |
Hi guys, I have one major sticking point. I can #close without problems now, but the next day I can't think of any good original lines to text. Any suggestions? Thanks! |

Jsmooth had a good one posted today: fun-text-message-vt18162.html Still trying to figure out who to send this to tonight I text the same night I get the number- there is a lot of debate about if this is dhv or dlv - but I just read this post by Tyler d. (that I found on this board) and he has no issue contacting the girls the same night. The trick is just to come off as being fun and spontaneous and not being needy- I'll typically write something like "I hope your not still at that bar". This works great if your at some after hours party cuz there is the possibility of meeting again that night. Even if your not at a party just respond to her like you have a million things going on and tell her you'll call her some time. If it is the next day "tag, your it" is always fun- cuz the next response is always "who is this???" and then you can get into all sorts of fun! |

Thanks. What would you text her on the same night though? Jsmooth's text is brilliant, too bad I'm not english so it can't work out for me! |

If I were to text her the same night I would say something like, "hope your not at the same place I just meet you", of course replacing 'same place I meet you' with the name of whatever venue or establishment your at... Anyway not sure if they have the game 'tag' where your from, but its something we used to play on in the school yard where you would walk up to someone and touch them and yell 'Tag, your it!' and then run away and wait for them to chase you... it might be a cultural thing... I was just looking over some of my texts from this weekend to see if I could find any good starters for you, but it's all contextual- in general, you might want to refer back to some funny thing you talked about before you got the number- if you can create some inside joke between you and her- give her a nickname and then when you text back say something like 'what's up nickname' - what country do you live in anyway? |

Hey thanks for the tips, inside jokes are always good! I haven't been going out this weekend but I'll try it next time! I'm from Holland by the way! And sorry for the late reply. |

I always begin a first text with a neg. If you met her in a bar or club, begin by calling her a lightweight, or whatever word you use to make fun of someone who gets drunk easily. Or if she has a prominent accent, lightly neg her for it. Follow the neg up up with a I've found that constructing my texts this way gets a positive response. |
