It has been 2 months since I've learned about the game. Although I made major improvements in my social life; I can approach strangers with relative ease, getting better in conversations, appearing more confident etc, I am running into another sticking point.

I've read a lot about picking up and I understand a lot of theory, but I can't apply the concepts and the technique properly myself. If I am the third party looking at others pickup attempts, I can easily pinpoint errors and tell them you should do this, this, this and that. But when it comes to myself, I make all those mistakes that I pointed out in others unconsciously. I feel like I am a physiology professor who knows the exact muscular movements and functions when an athlete is running, but if I am asked to run myself, I will fail and embarrass myself.

I think what I need to do is to cut down on the time spent in reading and spent more time outside practice interacting with people. Any advice on what I should do??

haha looks like I have the solution all along :P I think I will have to reconstruct my fundamentals again and go out often, instead of trying to learn advanced techniques.

It happens to alot of guys on here man. Paralysis through analysis. It would be like someone reading a bunch of books by Bruce Lee and expecting to go out and win a fight.... Not gonna work. You have to practice so all the theory you read becomes real to you. Otherwise it will all be theory.
