| Post subject: | Number Closed Rejection |
Hey guys, I just wanted to throw this up here for the hell of it. I rarely ever do day game at all so I stepped out of my comfort zone here and took a crack at it and I feel good about it but the end result was a rejection, which is ok I don't care...(I shouldn't care - right)?...I just want to ask the pros on here what they would have done in my situation. Basically, is their any tactics or things to say when you ask for a number and the answer is no. Can anything be said that can persuade her to change her mind? Basically, my story is this...I went to a restaurant/bar with a few co-workers. I sat at the end of the table and the waitress which serves us was cute. I just started talking to her and commented on her eyes telling her they were beautiful. I made some quick chit chat comments here and there but it's a bit difficult to strike up a real convo because she's running around and I was kind of busy eating. Anyway, the food came late and I asked her for free shots, one for herself..she said she can't drink at work so I told her I would take her out friday night while she was walking away in a hurry which she kind of ignored. Anyways, she ended up hooking up the entire table with free shots. At the end of it, I was the last to pay and I put her aside and I took my phone out with my phonebook ready and I said to her, let me take take you out for some shots after work then on a friday. She said, sorry I don't do that with my customers at work. I said please come on that's the biggest excuse waitresses and bartenders use, I have a few friends who always use that line...I said, nothing wrong with it and I never come here...lets text and chat. She said to come back next week at the bar. I told her sorry I don't come here at all, so it would be better if she chatted or texted. She then told me she never has time to go out bc she's always working and when she does she only goes out with her girl friends. I then just said come on, just one night quick...after that, it kind of looked like I was begging and not going anywhere, she just kept saying sorry I can't.. so I gave up and that was it. Would you guys have done anything differently in my situation? Thanks |

You shouldn't care, it was a very good effort. You will care since you rarely do it, but you'll do better next time because of it. There is really no way to work around a 'no' once she refuses. Once the no is verbalized it's time to move on. But hey just remember, she's just a waitress at a bar. Plenty of other girls out there and be happy you had the balls to talk with her (Which most guys can't) To answer your other question, here's what I would of done differently (I actually hate doing hypothetical situations, but for the sake of learning) first off, I would of just relaxed and enjoyed the time with my co-workers, even more so than usual If I noticed the cute waitress. Because when she sees the fun that is going on in my presence, who wouldn't want to be having fun with me instead of working? I would ignore the waitress for the entire meal, barely notice she was there, and continuing focusing on having a great time with my co-workers. At the very end I would pull her aside and be direct and to the point(She's on the clock after all, you have to move fast) , saying something like: Quote: "Hey, I'm heading out but I thought you looked kind of cute. You might be a fun person to hang out with, so let's go out for drinks later. I'd like to get to know you."
with a confident smile. Again, don't worry too much about the past. It's already happened and you can't change it. Just focus on what you can do right now and you'll keep getting better. |

Thanks a lot, I appreciate the response. I'll also attempt your advise the next time around and see how it goes |
