Alright so obviously this has happened a couple times since it's a sticking point. Anyway I'm new at pickup and I've been steadily doing approaches. I've gotten to the point where I'm still nervous but can pretty much say fuck it and walk up to any girl. So, I've been doing canned openers but after the opener I can't bring myself to keep talking. It's not like I'm bad at conversation and I know I could talk about basically anything, but I feel like they will think I'm hitting on them if I continue. It's illogical I know, but in my head I just like rationalize it in this weird way that I have to walk away or else they will get bored or, again, think I'm hitting on them. For example, today I was at this new frozen yogurt place and an HB8 and HB7 walked in and I was like alright Sobriquet you gotta go talk to these girls. So I did and went and did the drug dealer opener and they seemed really intrigued. I kino'd the girl I was interested in and smiled and made eye contact and all that. I could tell I was in and then I got that mental block and just walked away. Any tips to overcome this? |

So what if they think you're hitting on them? Isn't that exactly what you ARE doing? A good way around your problem would be some canned routines. You're obviously not against the use of canned material like a lot of people are. If you ask me it's a great way to practice before you become confident and competent enough to go with natural game. Just make sure you adjust them to suit your personality, style and tone. And make sure you know the routines inside out. Nothing sounds worse than "So I want you to think of a number between, no wait, I'll think of a number, then you umm.. like... if you win then... and if I lose.." You'll just come across as stupid. Also don't stick to the script. Pick up on what she says, things going on around you etc or you'll sound like a robot. Just be calm, casual and don't look for a way out or race to the end of a routine. You can even fit in some great DHV stories |
