I met a girl today who I had seen around town lots of times and number closed her (very badly but got it). I waited until the evening to text and this is how it went:

Me: Hey Tina, I hope the rest of your Monday was as eventful after some guy interrupted your morning coffee :) Mine was a battle to recover from the festival! Pete

HB7: Hey, yeah.. Mondays always seem to be a struggle. The festival was alright, so many people!

Me: Haha thats what makes festivals fun! Hey, I'm goin to call u in a minute so think of something fun to say so its not awkward...

I then called and no answer. I didn't think she would be felt like I needed to regain some control after her lame text.

I guess I showed way too much interest but then again I asked for her number so she knew I liked her...

Thoughts are welcome!!

Hey buddy,

Seems ok to me. It is hard to get them to interact if there is not enough attraction and investment from the start.

I recon you leave it for several days or weeks and then try to call or text her again.

Meanwhile keep on gaming

Thanks mate. Built zero attraction during the opener/number close but thought I could pull through as we have kept giving each other 'the eye' when we see each other. Oh well

I always find that If you mention something as awkward it normally will be..

I would have said something more along the lines of " That conversation we had today at coffee was... decent;) Im going to call you and continue where we left off...Try not to drool too much when you hear the voice of an angel"

My text game is near flawless however once I start taking girls out on dates is when I start having difficulty

I think this situation is hilarious. You set yourself up for it to go wrong though. You made the text awkward, and not all girls are great at coming up with stuff on the spot. If this is your first time texting her as well, I think you should have held out for a bit before you even think about picking up the phone.

The other thing about females too is that they're a lot more self conscious than guys are. She simply might not want to talk on the phone with you because she doesn't like hearing her own voice, and that makes it awkward for her to be comfortable with you >>>> At the same time, it could have been an inappropriate time to call her, she could have been busy, or on the toilet.. Who knows?

Also, did you leave a message when she didn't pick up? Chicks love cute messages.

Despite your situation though, I still commend you on getting the number close. My friends still won't even say hi, let alone ask for their phone number.
