So, I've dated a few girls over the years that just seem downright unresponsive to fun/silly texts. Incapable of banter and seem to want just text "serious" stuff. As in, they actually seem to want me to text like:
Me: What are you doing?
Her:
Me: Oh, neat, I'm reading a book. It's really good. It's called The Wolf of Winter by Paula Volsky
Her:
Me: Have you had a chance to read anything good, recently?
Her:
Me: I see. I saw that book and thought it looked interesting. Are you more drawn to the story or the characters?
Her:
Me: Hmm, so who's your favorite character? Describe them.
Her:
Me: I had a feeling you wouldn't pick the hero
So the crazy girl. A reflection of an inner desire, I think.Her:
Me: Well, I can't comment on that. But the question remains, would you recommend it?
Her:
I mean, I can *do* this. But it's not terribly interesting to me. Note, this is at least casual girlfriends, not girls I met the other day. And I'm asking about the humor impaired ones, I'm not saying "funny texts don't work". In my experience, they normally do, and that's what I use a lot. But these particular girls do not like it.
If I try to make funny replies, they ignore or reply with two word disinterest. Same thing for fantasy scenarios. I just wonder if what I'm doing is even productive. Seems like they get annoyed if I don't have a little boring conversation each day. Is this just basically either comfort building or feeling like we're keeping a connection, even when away?
What should I be doing here? Exactly as I am, or should I be doing something more?
And if your reply is anything about better humor, cockier, less cocky, etc, I need not hear it. Humor and light hearted fun are out - I'm sure of that.
I suppose what I'm asking is, should I be using this for a particular bonding purpose(s)? And if so, what? All ideas welcome
