I dont understand it. My roomates says im like The person who dresses well and carries themselves confidently, but he says I have a quiet and reserved personality. So i come off looking stuck up. Im obviously not because once they get to know me im not like that at all.... What can i do besides just talking to people more. like body language things to improve this...I dont want chicks to be afraid to talk to me lol. |

It's all in the Smile  .A friend of mine used to have the same problem and he discovered a quick cure is to watch/listen to something funny before he goes out. He went as far as recording this on his mp4 player. This will always put a smile on your face befor you leave home and as you understand more about how effective your smile, you'll be able to smile and relax like other people. And if that does work - just imagine everybody NAKED!  Touch |

what others said - smile. avoid confrontational body language like crossed arms, facing directly at people when talking, etc |

the smiling thing is great, I like that. Also try talking not to just hot girls, but everyone in general. Not only will this keep your general social skills up, but your state also. I am not naturally gifted socially, but I am one of the coolest guys people will ever meet when I get in that social mood, and people always approach me when I'm like that. Talking to everyone insures I'm in that mood constantly, and makes me just plain happier, cooler, and more approachable in general. My philosophy is it's better to be warm and friendly than cold and mysterious. |

i DON'T really agree with the smiling thing, because it is pretty goofy. I can't imagine being in a place like college/Highschool and be smiling CONSTANTLY while walking around. |

Talk to everyone, have fun with everybody, take the initiative when it comes to talking to people, open up your body language, smile. Most importantly. Just relax. If you have trouble doing this (might be the reason why some people think you look uptight) then do some meditation exercises. |
