Post subject:  The Rose Seller Obstacle
Hey guys, I just wanted to gather some insight on how to handle an unexpected obstacle 'The Rose Seller' as a few of them seem to operate in my area lurking inside and outside of the popular clubs.

This has happened on about a half dozen occasions and has even happened once during a 'bounce' which was unfortunate :roll:, so I consider it a personal sticking point, but I could be running my game then sure enough some guy/girl will try muscle in on the pick up and essentially give me an unexpected shit test and lowers my value as I try deal with it and no matter how I try and maintain my frame whilst I disarm them and make them go away, always seems harms my chances to some degree.

I've dismissed them with:

"Not tonight thank you"
"Maybe another time, thanks"
"I'm not trying to seduce her y'know :P" (false disqualifier)

What would you suggest is the best way to defuse the seller without buying a rose, because in my opinion I think they are opportunists, exploit my frame, let alone lame as hell as they try to make a quick buck off my investment, but sticking to my principals and not buying into their frame of being 'yet another sucker' and sending them on their way, I don't get women drinks to 'buy their time/affection so I don't want to buy a rose to accomplish the same thing but as much as I hold my frame I want to avoid coming across as 'cheap ass' in a HB's eyes.

As I refuse the sale and she scours me, one of her own shit test will follow.

Some of the comebacks I’ve used to make light of the situation are:

“… and they say romance is dead ;)”
“You need a rose to feel special?… that’s so cute! ;)”
“I don’t need material possessions to buy your attention ;)”
“well, I'm not trying to impress you ;)” (ballsy but a false disqualifier)

Would love to hear any feedback you guys may have, surely I'm not the first person who this has ever happened to.

I don't want to resort to hitting other clubs where I know they don't operate, those clubs don't pull in the HB's like the main strip and I'd be admitting defeat to myself by purposely considering to evade them.

I'd really appreciate your help :)

Ask them, "Do you take debit cards?"

It'll show that you were not too cheap to buy it, but simply can't due to having no cash on you.

I think I get caught up in over-thinking about my frame and how I'm being perceived by others (HB's) rather than being aloof like I should be - It has got to a point where I'm apprehensive about their presence, I'm sure they don't intentionally target me but it sure feels like it as their timing is impeccable.

I can go out tonight safe in the knowledge I can try both those out (its sure to happen) - Again thank you so much :)

Yes, they always laugh, and get uncomfortable in a good way(change of emotions).You can even exaggerated, and role play, it helps, saying we been together 4 this amount of years, and she already cheated blah blah, please man, next time ask club related questions in my main post so other people can learn...

^ good! But is not about being cheap, you can be a millionaire, is the sub-communication that you do not but women flowers unless they are your girl, you buy them flowers you are dead...I do not like it... Cause it does not show the subcommunication of the buying flowers to try to impress, the point is not the flower lady but the target and the message sent.

I understand what you're saying, I posted here as I thought it was more of a personal sticking point, feeling a bit put out by the whole peer pressure thing and uncertain of how to proceed without harming my chances, but I'd be more than happy for you to link this info into your main post as it certainly is worth a mention.

I only got approached once at the weekend by a flower girl and the cheating line worked like a charm, possibly because this time I was prepared for the event and felt a lot more confident about dismissing them at the same time - its just that peer pressure which seems to influence my frame.

I'll have to purpousely field test puaninja's line at the next approach I get to see how that one works out for me. :)

Right, but you can still convey the message you want to both the flower seller and the girl. You are basically telling the flower seller to fuck off. And you can then tell your girl that you have plenty of cash on you, but you just hate flower sellers so you always tell them you only have a debit card on you. Again, you don't have to make it obvious that you are refusing to buy her flowers, but she'll still be wondering in the back of her mind why you don't think she is worthy of a rose...which is what you want.
