So the other night I'm out at a bar with a friend, and we're talking to two HB-8's that are showing obvious IOI's (touching my arms, taking pics with us, leaning on my shoulder). After about a 1/2 hour of talking, she suggests I buy her a drink. I had already had a few and had to drive my friend 20 minutes back to my place after and didn't want to pay for her drink then just leave. I told her this so she suggested we have a drink then we can just stay at their place right down the street. Long story short it still worked out for me, but when she suggested I buy her a drink I had NO CLUE what to say. I didn't want to agree right away and sound needy which would also make her feel like the shot caller. Lets say a girl asks you this and its early in the night so you know they're not quite ready to leave the bar anytime soon. What would be a good response? |

What about telling her something like: If i bought you a drink, I'd have to sleep with you... or "I buy drinks only to girls I sleep with...(pause) so, what do you drink?" |

I never usually do this, it's like they're trying to use you to their benefit. You could turn it on them playfully or just don't. It's manipulative! |

you could change the frame and ask "what makes you so special that you deserve this drink, or lets play a game and see whether you win this drink, or I only buy drinks for really special ppl blah blah....or you could even say I have a bottle of lovely red wine at my place- lets go share that instead... I completely disagree with the PUA rule - "never ever buy a girl a drink..." I think thats BS - if game is going well she may want to go to the bar to move the interaction forward or to get away from her friend so is helping you isolate! |

Hahaha I'd use one of these...I completely disagree with the PUA rule - "never ever buy a girl a drink..." I think thats BS - if game is going well she may want to go to the bar to move the interaction forward or to get away from her friend so is helping you isolate! I also buy girls a drink if I know they'll be leaving the bar with ME! You know when to buy or who to buy drinks for. |

I always ask them first. me: hey why dont u buy me a drink (not serious) HB: no way, u buy me a drink me: man and woman are equal, and I asked first. from there, change subject or keep goofing around who buys who drink. lot of times girl gave me drink or giving their drink to sip. but I dont usually drink so I turn them off... which is kinda pisses them off... hahaha |

Many good answers here, but the theory is as follows. When she asks you to buy her a drink explicitly, she is trying to make you jump through her hoop (credit: Lovedrop). In other words: a shit test. Can you jump through her hoop? No, it lowers your value. The only exception is when you make her jump through your hoop first. An example could be: HER: Can you buy me a drink? ME: Give me one good reason? / How do I know you're not taking advantage of me? (playful!!) HER: (blah blah) ME: playfully getting a drink like it's no big deal, with a good reply to whatever she said. By turning it on herself (and trying not to sound cheap when doing this) you establish that you are the leader, and she will follow. Big difference with immediately saying "Yes, what do you want?". Game on. |

Always carry a $20 monopoly bill in your wallet for this very reason. Then when she asks to buy her a drink, hand her the fake money and tell her to get what she wants and get you one too...and make it top shelf! |
