Post subject:  Administrative Issues: SP Board (open discussion)

As many of you may have noticed, far too many people mistakenly post issues about just one girl or some specific situation in the Sticking Points board. They fail to understand that a "sticking point" is a problem you run into REPEATEDLY from having already practiced pickup on multiple women.

In the past, I have tried using multiple board announcements and very stern warnings to curb this problem but there are still some days where I find myself locking or moving almost every other thread in here.

I need your help, people. What can we do to make sure people don't post the wrong threads in this board?

People should understand that learning pickup involves having the balls to talk to MANY women, not just to work on ONE woman. If they find a "point" where they feel "stuck" with one woman in one specific situation, that's NOT a sticking point. How can we make people understand that the word "sticking point" applies to their overall pickup practice (involving many women) and NOT specific seductions? Should I be stricter with the banhammer? Should I post a different, flashier stickied thread or announcement? Should I re-word the current announcements to make them easier to understand? Should I just give up and let this board redundantly become the same board as General Questions? Different ideas?

This is an open discussion to all.

I think the issue is that a lot of people simply sign up for this forum because they have issues with ONE girl, and they post every where they can to get attention!
You could try to reword the general description of this section to make it more obvious that this is for general issues, not for specific cases.
Just a thought..

Just read this. I am guilty of doing this twice now. I had no idea. Is there a place where one can ask about specific situations? To me it seems like I get stuck in unique situations with unique women. I don't think I have had the same "sticking point" with more than one woman.

I dont think people actually read the rules before they start posting.

How about we write "NOT this ONE girl" in the description? Or maybe write it clearly in the general questions part.

We mods tend to move most threads about specific situations to the General Questions board, but now that I think about it, maybe that board shouldn't be called "General Questions."

It used to be called something else, "newbie questions" or something along those lines, did that work better?

But I agree with Ezo, I don't think anyone reads the rules at all

It used to be called "Newbie Questions" but we changed it because people who were too stuck up to admit that their questions were newbie questions kept posting in the PUA Lounge, cluttering the lounge with low level shit. Perhaps we should consider renaming it again.

Maybe it would be better to change the PUA lounge name to "Advanced PUA lounge".

I agree with Ezo, rather than changing the name of the beginner lounge we could change the name of the PUA lounge, it would make a more distinct difference of where beginner questions and more advanced topics belong.
Also, maybe "Sticking points" is not a great name since no one seems to get what it means. Suggestions for a new name?

Attaching the word "advanced" to anything attracts idiots who think their stupid newbie oneitis questions require advanced analysis. It won't do any good. Remember how many disclaimers I ended up having to put in my "Advanced Questions Ask Chief" thread a long time ago because of the same problem?

A "sticking point" has always been a PUA community standard term. There should be no need to change it. People just need to learn what the hell it means.

True, the only place where there is a higher level is in the PMZ and that is pretty sparsely populated. People dont post there because the posts rarely get responses.

I personally don't know half the terms people are using on this website, sometimes I wonder if it even is English.

I agree that simple changing the name to advance might just attract retards trying to be smart.
I think "General Questions" is a good name, what was the PUA Lounge called before? I forgot.
And either we need to change the name "Sticking points" or change the description because clearly people don't get it.
But on that note, the sticking point thread that I started is getting a lot of attention and I am worried I won't be able to handle all the questions on my own soon. It kind of concerns me that we are just thee guys talking about this, where are the rest?

If one of you want to jump in to the conversation here and help out I would appreciate it.

here are some possible ideas for new names:

pua lounge : disscussion and theory

sticking points : re-occuring problems

although it would be nice to have guys actually know what sticking points are, or many other terms that have become a staple of the community, it is just wishful thinking, we are lucky if people even read the damn rules from the looks of things

I like the name "re-occuring problems" but I don't think it is necessary to change the name of the lounge, perhaps the description.
And again, the reason I started the help thread in this section was to teach guys what sticking points are.
Also, shouldn't this thread be in the Mod-chat?

I dont think people even read the description, if we are lucky they read the rules.

I think they check the rest of the posts and see how they are.

I frankly dont get how people cant get what a sticking point is, meybe we need to add a glossary somewhere.

For the newbie questions, maybe we should write like "That one girl and PU basics" since that is all we really want in there.

Sure adding the word advanced to the lounge will attract idiots but we already have a lot of idiots treating it like the general questions cathegory. Im not sure about the "Discussion and Theory" title, then there is no difference between that and the general questions. Discussion and theory could be anything just like general questions.
