Post subject:  Problems after openings and small talk... I'm stuck.

Hi everyone.

Me and two friends of mine are really getting into the mystery method and the game in general. We all can open sets pretty good and aren't afraid to approach, but once we open the set, and have maybe tried a joke or "fun game" (e.g. the number between 1-4, then between 1-10 thing), thats it. We're blank.

For those who need a more in depth explanation of our problem i can give an example from tonight.

My friend and I approached a group, him first. He talked to a girl in the group (didn't address the whole group, first mistake), and began with an opinion opner (friend buying top for his girlfriend, doesn't know which size. Should he go a bit large or bit small?). I waqs right behind him and listened to the girl then chipped in with "do you think its ok for him to ask her her size?". "No, then she knows the gift". I made the great mistake of approaching her from behind... anyways, i saw the mistake, and decided to turn my attention to two girls on the other side of the table. Asked them same thing, discussion starts. Now I'm standing... I know i have to get down on their level to not be intimidating, but that means i have to kneel. There were only barstools behind me and that would still have put me "on top" of them. But when i knelt it was hard to seem relaxed and just lean back. When the discussion was over i did chat a bit then did the whole "phsycic" thing with the numbers guessing. Worked ok... but after that. BLANK. Thought of going into stories so asked if she liked to travel (other girl gone to get something). "Yes", broke out into a (true) story about being chased by hippos in South Africa, no laughter. After that I just said nice talking to you, see you around and bailed. What could I have done differently or shouild have done? Any comments will be appreciated.

Post subject:  Hey

I don't think you did that bad sometimes if the vibe isn't right it just isn't right. The main thing to do as a first learner is to stack material and try to practice before going out so you will know what to jump to next. Sometimes though things change so you will have to phase shift accordingly or stack different material depending on the girls.
Don't forget besfriends test on two sets either or murder, marry, makeout game to isolate a girl from a group. And all in all don't forget to be yourself and let the convo flow from your mouth rather then canned all the time.
Heres a tip for you for this weekend. On your cell phone you will have a section thats is used to type in notes. So what I did was type in different canned material and notes in my cell so in case I would get lost or caught up I could quick look at my phone like someone just text me and then run some material I forgot.
I'm sure others will help you as well

Post subject:  Qualification

I think the fact that the girl told you about an interesting story from her life is a rather big indicator of interest. She was investing in the conversation with something personal and personally I would have made her qualify on basis of the story with a question like: "I admire a girl willing to go on an adventure... What other good qualities do you have?"

The first statement is good for sharing emotional experiences -> take her on an emotional trip. The second one is good for qualification. If she tries to qualify you are in A3 and can take it from there.

At this state it would probably be to shoot yourself in the foot if you make too many DHV-routines without qualifying. You will come of as free entertainment . Generally speaking do not use to much time in A2 - it is counterproductive. When a girl tells you a story like this try to make her qualify.

Best of luck

look into the routines area of the forum. learn how to transition phases, when and to what. you have gotten the approach part down, now you need to build comfort and DHV. once you've done that, either the oppertunity will present itself to close or you will create the oppertunity. it just takes practice.

good luck,

PB
