Generally yes. But as with most any thing in PU, there is exceptions if your frame is dominant. Say you already have an "alpha" frame going, a little self depriciation isn't going to hurt. Of course, if you start with it, you'll likely set the frame of having lower social status. |

just laugh with it. as long as your laughing with them and they aren't laughing at you. It will show your secure with yourself then and they will like that. |

It's not a DLV. Watch some insecure guys and see if they'll ever put themselves down. Self-deprecating humour is a sign of self-confidence and a good way of deflating attacks against you and showing vulnerability. Like everything it's a balancing act. Don't try to be the most cocky alpha male in the world - nobody will ever buy that. Be willing to show some vulnerability and laugh at yourself. |

Well of course no one will buy it if you think nobody will buy it.I'm not saying you should necessarily act like this, but if your frame is right, people should be "buying" whatever it is you're selling. |

Never use self-depreciating humour to make a girl laugh!making fun of yourself to make the girl laugh... yes or no? I'd say a big NO. |

After she laughs, there will be a small part of you thinking that she might agree with what you said, so I don't think it's a good idea. |

So when are we going to the Hells Angel's club together so you can show off your "Alpha Male" frame?

Unless you're so comically exaggerated with it that it's clear you're being sarcastic, as in the case of an agree and amplify. |

If you do it right you can call her out for laughing, say she's not suppose to laugh and she is now the meanest girl in the world. Then they will validate you and themselves. |
