| Post subject: | Martial Arts Routine |
Here's a routine that I've come up with and field-tested a few times, with positive results: Basically you want to find a good self-defense technique. Here's some links: http://beauty.expertvillage.com/intervi ... efense.htm, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEtzFLWdE-k. But, you may want to google wrist-grab or something of the sort. Essentially the best self-defense technique for this would be something that will allow you not to hurt her, and has a lot of kino opportunity. Make sure you know the self-defense technique well enough that you can teach another person. Try it on your friends, and then try teaching them. With the technique leant you can build a very strong routine around it. Since I'm a martial artist the way I usually go about is like this: Newton: What do you do for fun? HB: blah blah work out blah blah Newton: Awesome?! You work out? I'm actually addicted to working out. Yeah, I'm a martial artist. (Go into my story about starting martial arts, what I like about it, what I've learned.) Newton: Hey, let me show you a self-defense technique just incase some guy gets too fresh and I'm not around. From there you have good kino, not to mention all the DHV. It's also very easy to banter along, like pretend that she hurt you seriously after you have her perform it on you, or tell her she has huge muscles or something. It's very flexible and can be used in many different stages of your interaction. Of course, you're probably not a martial artist, but it should still fit along. Just say something silly like: "I saw this kick ass move in a Bruce Lee movie," or "You're going to be my bodyguard for tonight, but let me show you something." Just use your imagination. |

Imho you can get a bad reply on it, martial arts are surrounded by misconceptions and prejudice by non-practitioners, also I think most girls don´t give a shit if you do a martial art. (And man I got a black belt so I´m real deal in this shit) |

newton, sounds like good stuff to me, s/th i may have to try out myself. imanewbie, if you act like a stuck up martial artist you may get a bad reply. act modest and it may just work out i think the key to this routine is all presentation. Remember: it doesn't matter what your saying, but how you say it. |

Most people have a ton of misconceptions about martial arts, probably including you. When someone does this bullshit like "learning" martial art to show up and so on you just increase the misconceptions.

I'm sorry friend, but I really don't understand what all the trouble is about. Whatever these "misconceptions" are, I've not encountered them when doing this routine. When I do it, I'm just telling the girl about a sport that I do, and why I like it, etc., then I show her a little light-hearted trick. There's tons of "misconceptions" about ESP, and psychology (cold-readings) but when you're doing a routine involving them they really shouldn't get in the way. If your doing them right that is. Same goes for this.

I don't see anything wrong in the martial art routines. I use it once in a while too. There huge opportunity of body contacts, if you know what I mean I've shown some HBs wrist spraining, pushing and pulling technigues of Aikido, and they find it very cool. It's a good DHV. Keep the game tight DaOracle |

I've been doing Hapkido for a while now(pretty much Aikido) and I tried something like this and it completely bombed. She turned it down and I offered again and I could tell she was getting put off. I think that had to do with my approach into the subject, but it still was pretty bad. |

yeah dude I wouldnt try overtliy pushing martial arts abilitys, most girls dont care where ur a martial artsist and lets face it if ur a martial artsist public opianion is that ur average ymca boxer will dismatel ur ass before u can tie ur balckbelt ( and is pretty much ture for any non full contact cambat sport based system).also permoting ur abiltys look as if u need to resure people of ur capability to protect urself and others which is very bad. look at the best fighters on the planet like b,j penn ,randy couture , bj penn aint buff dont look like a fighter but the confidance he exsudeds is enough to let everyone know u dont wanna F%^K with bj that show way more value than self promotion Am a professional m.m.a fighter and if it and martial arts come up i play it down i thing u get much better feed back that way . normal if a girl asks me what do u do or what do u do for fun ,i,ll reply the second gayest sport in the world she normal reply whats that which i nomaly hit back with u know cagefighting they put two sweaty half naked guys in a cage and they run around trying to touch each other till one of them gives up. normaly her next question whats the gayest sport in the worlds then ?? bodybuliding .. . think about it these dudes spend hours in the gym lifting , starve them selfs and pain them selfs brown so the can get up on stage in a speedo so other dude can judge how nice a bod they have (then in ur campiest voice) gay gay gay gay |

@ Cohath Dont worry, sometimes your routines will don't make their job, this can have different reasons: - the girl wasn't enought attracted to you - she was pissed of cause of somting else.. don't care.. try it again an other day with a other chick.. Happy sarging |

I think this is not a bad idea to try to use this as kino esc... but is important to keep it going as long as u have a nice background to the story, like in "internal martial arts" (kung-fu, tai chi, etc) there's a whole energy background that u can use, something much more spiritual and energetic, than just a technique, u can definitely use that in the field.. !! |

I have to vouch for this routine, I do martial arts too and I've ALWAYS gotten good results out this. Normally I teach them how to get out of a choke hold, and then have them do it to me. It's ALL in how you bring the topic up. If you be light-hearted about it then it will work. Here's normally what I do. *topic of martial arts comes up* Her: Some kind of resistance, AKA "Oh I'll just kick him in the balls." or "I'm too wimpy to be able to do this stuff" Me: So, what happens when the guy is choking you and has a cup on? You're screwed then, literally. Anyone can do this. Here, lemmie show you. *Make sure to re-assure her that you're not actually going to hurt her, then show her what to do. GENTLY!* Once she's learned how to do the move, let her practice on you a few times, and you might say something about her being really strong or maybe she's really a ninja and could kill you at any moment. The point is to make this FUN. Like I said, this has NEVER failed for me and the girls are always more interested afterwards. |

Yeah bro. I like this. I will definatly use this sometime. But to continue this whole misconceptions about martial arts, of course people are going to have some misconceptions. I have never personally encountered any. Usually when I tell people that I am a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, the respone I always get is something like "OMG wow I better not mess with you" or "Wow. Good for you. How much do you charge to be a bodygaurd?" Thats what I always get. Oh yeah, and this is to cougar. I like the whole gayest sport routine. It gets the target intrested and I thought it was funny. I actually am training to be a mma fighter. I am currently training in Jujitsu and I might start training in Judo. As soon as I can find a mma gym I'll be working out there too. Bedrock |
