Agreed. What you could do is pretend to be distracted midway through her sentence and then when she acts all offended say something like "Oh! I'm sorry, I got distracted by [insert ridiculous thing here]" just say something like "that dancing gnome in the corner" or something stupid and then smile and wink at her. She'll know you're just screwing around and you showed that she isn't the most important thing. |

It's insulting, you'd come off looking like an ass. If she asked you the same thing it would be a good chance to DHV, and if she responded with that statement you wouldn't feel good about it. Negs should never be canned anyways. They are always situational. |

That's better, but I would go for something a little more elaborate. Like if its a tiled ceiling you could say something like "I'm sorry, I got distracted. I can't help but start counting all the little holes whenever I see those ceiling tiles!" That way you're not being a jerk by being distracted by just anything, you are being cocky and funny. |

Yeah, I can't picture myself saying that while sounding improvised at the same time. I wouldn't be able to consistently keep up that persona.
