Thought I'd share something that has worked miracles for me over the past 2 years, not really sure how you would categorize this but I use a lot whenever I meet a new girl. I was born and raised in Europe and now living in Canada, and although I barely have an accent nowadays I sometimes get asked where I'm from. (And if they don't, it's fairly easy to indicate you're from somewheres else). I'll usually follow up by telling a DHV story or two about home and the stuff that I miss, mainly lead into the following question girls almost always ask: "Do you miss it?" Or "What do you miss?" I'll usually reply with something like: Oh the food, and the weather is better... (insert random thing or two). Finished by: "But the girls are much Prettier/Nicer/More Fun" While saying this laugh a bit so that they think you might be kidding. I guess this is a neg in a way, and I've always received positive reactions, sometimes a "Oh I'll prove you wrong right now!" Or "Hey that's so not true!" Try it if you like, it's worked for me! X |

Hey man, Yeah, I get where you're coming from! I'm in a kind of similar situaton. I'm English and was born & raised there, but I'm now living and working in France, and have been for the last 6 years. It works both ways for me : Firstly, lots of French girls LOVE my accent when I speak French (I don't sound foreign, and in fact I've picked up a pretty strong accent from the region that I'm living in! French girls seem to find this funny & amazing for a foreigner! lol) Then when I go back to England to see my friends, family etc, girls from home who I grew up with and also "random" girls often ask me to speak French to them when they find out that I live there! They seem to love it! Ha! Where abouts in Europe are you from originally? |
