Ok so I was at a bar last night, 2 set walks up to my group - they know one of the girls I was with. I asked the new girl on my left what her thought was about marrying someone that you haven't lived with. This worked really great and we had a good conversation going. I stopped talking to her for a little..... later I noticed she was super bored because no one at all had said anything to her since I last did. I thought OK what the hell let's try the cube routine. I didn't have anything else to say to her at the time, and it seemed like an interesting thing for someone who is sitting there bored (better than an open ended question... what do you guys think?). As soon as she hears me say imagine a cube, she blurts out "I've definitely heard this before" and "it was completely wrong, all of it". She laughed, but was obviously put off by it. My question: what do you do here? |

First... Little Panda, why the fuck are you posting "dont use canned shit" in a "Routines" subforum? Thanks for your help douche. === Hobbit... I knew based on her body language, the nature of her laugh (think of laughing with/at), etc. It was very obvious but I guess the way I phrased it here, by saying she laughed, makes it seem otherwise. Her reaction was basically like "this is lame and stupid". If you want you can give me a response for her saying "ive heard this before, this is so stupid", and a different one for if she had reacted positively "ive heard this before, haha it didn't really work". All I did was say "damn... well nevermind" and I turned and talked to my friends that I came with. I didn't talk to her again cause I wasn't gonna be that guy trying to get her approval. |

I was in the exact same situation just yesterday. On MSN with this girl, I began running the cube ('no, I don't know it'), imagine yourself a landscape blablabla and now you see a cube, and she interrupted me: 'Hey, I've heard this one before at school'. Interesting part of this, is that she is still in high school (16yr) and that I live in the Netherlands. PU isn't really evolved here, and routines like the cube are extremely rare here. Not to mention that little group of PUAs that are under 20. Anyway, I got out of it by saying 'damn, just when I tought I could provide you with the biggest entertainment of your life. Well, I'm going to study then. And cry... You already know the cube... damn...' With the growing PUA-business it will become more likely that your target has heard a routine sometime before. Yes, we shouldn't use routines to often and focus on natural game, but routines like the cube or ESP game can be very powerful in field. Using it can make the difference between a good set or an eject. What's next? Girls saying 'work on your natural game next time'? Anyway, to answer your question: I think it's best to be c&f about it (I saw this on tv, you probably watch to much tv, is that your dorky side?) and/or switch the subject to where she heard this and what she thought of it. |

Quote: Her knowing what the cube is doesn't change anything.
Don't you think that it will appear more cheesy to the target?Imagine yourself being a girl, you're having most fun with this guy and he's saying things you never heard before and it's really fun and he's cool and you exchange numbers or whatever. Then, next week, this even cooler guy pops up. You get hooked and then he'll tell you something crazy, but you know the guy from last week said exactly the same. What would you do? Imho the girl wouldn't feel special, interest level drops, and she thinks you're a loser. I think it does change the situation. |

Ejecting early is quite a topic and there are different things that people believe in. It goes back to social caliberation. At times ejecting at a 'high point' could be great, ejecting when she is rolling her eyes could be great, or ejecting because you want to talk to someone else is great. Its about saving your social value if thats what you care about. Canned materials, well who cares if its canned or not and calls you out on it. I would even tell girls that I learned it from 'The Game' and then go on to talk about game and women ! I think the OP just got a bad luck here that she had heard 'the cube', with some other girl in the same situation it could have been great. I wouldn't think too much about it. |
